I was asked for photos of Ecodan system, as they wanted to check if system wrongly fitted to only run heat 10 hours (meter is Economy 10 and not smart meter) but all replies stopped on Friday and hard to see why; sounds ridiculous to say all three people dropped replying straight after I'd had to do just a normal correction to say am female after was referred to as 'he', but nothing else stands out. If that is what it was, of course there'll be no responses here either.
Quick summary so no need to read all of the above linked-to thread ... short time until need to either renew tariff or change supplier; learnt all suppliers are offering variable; So Energy, who I really don't like/prefer [least bad option], only offer one variable tariff (So Flex) if click through via account page ... HA had said to me if asked for 24-hour tariff/single rate may sort that cold 14 hours a day since December 2021 (had to use oil-filled radiator to keep warm) but So Energy no response in December or this year ... was told in thread that if Ecodan been fitted to only allow heat for 10 hours that's a wrong install and very expensive and also that may need to take on HA ... was asked for photos, which I provided, but responses stopped. Included in thread is that disabled/housebound/in sheltered housing.
If it's possible for any kind of brief confirmation on incorrect fitting of Ecodan to only give 10 hours heat (if that's even possible to be able to see from photos), I'd be very grateful, as that would help with approaching HA further regarding putting the install right. Thanks.

If you have an Economy 10 meter then anything wired to a dedicated Economy 10 circuit will only run for 10 hours a day during the Economy 10 period. Any decent electrician should be able to tell you if this is how your Ecodan ASHP has been wired and it might be inexpensive to fix if it is just a case of moving wires at the consumer unit. I have not found any photos and I doubt that they would help but if you want people to comment it would be best to re-post the photos on this thread.Reed0

Thanks for responding @Reed_Richards I'd need to contact the housing association as first option, as they'd be doing checks periodically and not sure where I stand regarding tenancy agreement now, if make any changes outside of housing association install/checks. If the install is incorrect, it's been done by HA and fitters, so I feel they need to be fixing things. It'd take a while to add photos here, so here's a link to page 3 of the other thread, where 9 photos are: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6367056/3-days-to-end-of-so-energy-contract-only-so-flex-variable-offered-no-details/p3. Page 5 has one photo of the boiler itself (on/off panel is in cupboard to left).

Read the other thread, my guess is the Ecodan is timed to be On only on E10 slots on the controller, so you need to check that. The are lots of videos on youtube how to set it.
Sometimes threads just get bumped down the page and never to be seen again, But it did seem to me that they had solved it, It has 24/7 power so it can run 24hrs, Or at least the Ecodan control panel has power.
And a heat pump installer would do the service.1 -
Your image from the other thread showed that the off-peak consumer unit was turned off so the Ecodan appears to be wired correctly for 24 hours.
You must have a control unit for the system where you set the temperature etc.
Do you have either of the units shown in this image anywhere?

I totally missed that, I read the labels and Amp ratings but missed the obvious, So as i said its the Ecodan timer.

Thanks for your response @markin ... good to know that I can say to HA that Ecodan may be set to only link to E10 slots on controller; I'd never try to meddle with the Ecodan myself, but glad can make a note for when call housing association soon, so thanks for that. The other thread had asked for photos but there hadn't been a response to them was why the puzzlement. Didn't know if photos showing E10-only connection or all-day or if possible to tell from photos. Not sure which rate would work out cheaper tbh, with differing opinions and me not having had the ability to properly use Ecodan for all-day heating e.g. the last year has been the daily E10 hours plus 6 colder months of needing to use oil-filled radiator alongside. Particularly cold 6 months highlighted the big gaps in heating that I hadn't noticed in previous years since Ecodan installed.0

@markin I've just seen your edited posts ... yes, I can get to the panel you've shown, and have the remote also. Turned off the heating at the panel last week, with the temperatures soaring, but when it's on, which has been for a full year, there's only 10 hours of heating.

As I was one of those trying to help you a few comments.
- Nobody here cares if you are male or female
- Sometimes it happens that a thread drops down from the first page, and gets out of sight. Just a post would have brought it back to the first page without a need to create a new post
- Nobody here is paid to give advice, we do it to help people in our own time. So please forgive us if miss on a thread sometimes
Personally I don't have experience with heat pumps and the different models. You said you cannot do the test I suggested, so for me there was nothing left to help you.
Did you in the meantime contact your HA and get somebody out to check your set up? Looks now as if the main breaker on the E10 consumer board is off (something I missed) so you should have 24 hours power for the heat pump.
As it seems to be more of a configuration problem I will leave it to the specialists,0 -
I was misreading the spread sheet, E10 is the cheaper option depending on how they split the rate in October, even with running the ecodan 24/7
The controller is a user device meant to be used by the home owner, did they not leave you the manual for it? Its very simple to use after watching some videos of it being done.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE9GfGLzsDo

As it seems to be more of a configuration problem I will leave it to the specialists,I too never get paid for advice, and wasn't being demanding; was puzzled that photos asked for but then all comms stopped.Haven't contacted HA yet, as I wasn't clear from the other thread what the issue was or if I needed to. Thought other thread had been dropped, so posted this thread just to ask for brief feedback so can then contact HA, as I said in first post.
