  • Contemplating kicking Kroo into touch already. Just had an account since 28th January.

Find their app of beta quality at best. Raised three separate tickets comprising 8 or 9 points I felt need addressing. I'm on Android. Auto email back advising that they aim to reply within 24 hours, but no actual replies to date.

Things like a crash when downloading statements, no interest rate shown, no ability to edit or delete contacts, no balance after each transaction,  no use of the nickname that is within the contact list etc.

Chase saver looking like a contender as they're upping to 3.00% on 13th February. Still, I got 6p interest off Kroo on 1st February...  :D
Mortgage and debt free. Building up savings...

Yeah, I don't think their app & application process is doing them any favours just now. I'll stick with it for a while it suits me a little better having a decent rate on a current account and I'm not having a load of issues other than a bit sluggish.

All my deposits were from a single Santander account, all pulled in via OB.
Hmm, I wonder if this is what is causing the need for an 'incoming' check. I've only attempted faster payments pushed from other accounts. It is unusual for the receiver to hold payments, whereas if they were responsible for executing the transfer also...

2nd large sum held for review - 2 days on the trot now. I’ll wait for a few quid in interest, then back to Chase in a fortnight I think.

How did you transfer this in? FP or OB?

Faster (!) payment - can’t do open banking with Chase. It won’t go through until tomorrow morning at the earliest now. The especially annoying thing is that during yesterday’s 7 hour review I asked Kroo customer service to note that I would be transferring the same amount today.

Thanks, so no obvious pattern that could be used to avoid this is emerging :(

There’s more potential fun and games for withdrawal, might just do the whole pot in one go and get it over with rather than risk several days worth of reviews

  • I've had the account less than a week and I find it extremely frustrating.
It's by far the worst banking app I have and there is no customer service.
Queries posted to their online chat go unanswered and every single transaction from every bank account I have has been held for review when paying into Kroo. (One payment was for a little over £9.)
I'm now in the process of moving my money back out of this sorry excuse for a bank and every payment out has been held for review.
I now have two £10k outgoing transfers stuck in their review process. Thinking I'll just do another transfer for the entire balance, just to speed up the process of getting away from this lot.

Just requested my balance back to my current account elsewhere, to which I have made several small withdrawals before, without any issues. 2 payment requests today, both below £10,000. Both gone to review. I can’t express just how pleased I will be to see the back of Kroo.
