Morning friends
Slept well, gentle workout done, washing to hang out then coffee, shower and ready for the paid stuff. Just going to try and be calm and kind to myself today, one foot in front of the other.
Nothing to be gained by stressing about stuff that you cant change eh? Well we can try.
Oh and hope Squeak gets on OK on the bus!9 -
Morning all.
You and Mr N pack a lot into a day, Narc0!
asb, your talk of Sheila Maids took me back to my childhood - I loved ours! Did you know you can buy spare parts?
YL, take care of yourself!
Yesterday evening I managed to sort and bag up all the spring bulbs that I had taken out of the patio pots and left to die down and dry off. A fair few of them were sluggy and found their way into the bin, but I still seem to have an awful lot to be planted out! Job for the gardener, as I find kneeling - and getting up again - almost impossible nowadays. The back yard will look better once I have spray washed all the big plastic pots that they were in, so it is still WIP, but better.
Today's aspirations include
- finance check
- ring DS2
- hoover and dust all through upstairs and HSL
- file the papers that are currently spread over the spare bed
- take DH to SW (he was joint SotW last Tuesday - hope he's kept up the momentum)
- run my study group
- post a card and deliver a letter by hand
- brush Rosie outdoors!
- Rosie's walk
- plant out some annuals which missed out in the big push a few weeks ago
- plant the hellebore seeds
Some of them should be just 5-minute jobs!
Hope everyone has a good day xx

YL, our lives are following the same pattern atm. My car has new brakes, even a new (so expensive) clutch, and yet the brake/clutch fluid warning light comes on, and there is “nothing wrong” with it. Sleepless nights over having to buy a new car and not only the cost but the long wait, which means that I have to drive my current car with this problem that is not a problem. Add that to work being so busy atm, and it’s not a happy Fayolle here. The hospital cancelled next DD’s oncology appointment, so that puts us all in a tizz to boot, when you are mentally preparing yourself for the visit.
So today I have already stripped and remade our bed, and the wm is running. DH has gone to the office for a rare visit. His retirement plans have been thrown into disarray when they offered him more money to stay a bit longer. On the one hand, it is money, on the other hand I do think that there is more to life and he is so stressed that I’m not sure that he can take another year. Let alone me. He is being seriously tempted to stay.
Jobs to do today include:
hang out washing and hope it doesn’t rain - none here, and water butts are empty, garden like a desert.
get haircut - off shortly
ring hospital
take DD and her friend to station in big town
strip DD’s bed while she is away overnight
sort out ferry payment as the card I used was the one that the scum kindly hacked
prep dinner for today and something for sc tomorrow
boring paperwork, including DD’s rent
think about what to do about a car….
Not inspiring, I know.
Have a good day everyone x

Hi all! Hope you don't mind me posting. I meant to start posting a few weeks ago but my MH has been getting in the way of getting things done and then I got covid last week so haven't really been able to get too much done as I've been trying to stay out of areas that OH goes in. I'm not going to do a big clean up until I'm LFT negative but have started doing a few bits today (it's very very faint now).
Coffee and breakfast done
Bed made
DW unloaded and reloaded.
Bin taken out
Recycling taken out
Bin cleaned (it was not good 🤢)
Need to change cat's litter trays and hoping to get a few bits done in the garden after lunch.
Have a good day everyone.10 -

Fridge emptied, sorted and cleaned, shelves/boxes washed and replaced. Turns out buying a pack of red onions every time I need a red onion is not a good idea...
