Anyone got any experience (or thoughts) on the Kia Soul? Especially the cut down version, the 'Urban EV'.

Been keeping an eye out for SH Kona's and Niro's, as a potential replacement for our IONIQ, and noticed a pre-reg Soul.
I don't have any experience of the Soul EV but I've got a 2014 diesel Soul, and it's pretty useful for carrying stuff around in the back with the seats down, if that is your thing.

I don’t have any experience with an EV either but that doesn’t matter as I have no intention of buying one

What surprised me to learn from another thread

Not only can your energy supplier charge up your car battery

They can suck it out too if they so wish

What a load of twoddle, most (99%) of EV chargers are not bidirectional, and if you do happen to have a bidirectional one you'll know how to use it.

In basic terms, the car cannot convert DC back in to AC for use in a house, the charger needs to facilitate that, the only cars that can do this are chadamo equipped cars such as the Nissan leaf when paired with the indra charger, there are and will be others but it's not common place yet

You been reading the daily mail?
I don’t read the Daily Mail,  the info was on another thread here on MSE

    It wasn’t disputed either

Doesn't matter if it wasn't disputed, it's wrong.

It's misinformation like this rubbish that causes a bad impression of electric vehicles

Someone literally yesterday said the exact same thing to me when I said I had an EV so it's clearly been published by some rag

This is from 2022 and it's still technically not possible unless the car and charger support this.

The Telegraph is also one of the most anti-ev newspapers so no great surprise here

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove, your information and understanding of what's possible is simply wrong, do you not think we might have noticed our batteries being sapped even if it was actually technically possible?

But if you want to spread rubbish to your pals at the pub go ahead, you're not the first and you won't be the last.

Well I'm telling you whatever you read is wrong, having an actual technical understanding how things work would make you realise it's physically impossible for the energy provider to drain your battery.

Where is the link to the other post on this site as you're yet to provide a link
