I can't think of anything worse than white seats with a blue tinge from jeans, for example.
We do have a white exterior and even though we are not obsessive about the state of our cars, we find it needs a good wash about 3 times as often as my red Leaf. I last had a white car 2010-2016 and we should have remembered this. The blue jeans thing takes me back. I don't know if it's changed, but word on the grapevine was not to wear new, strong blue jeans, as they could leave a mark. So wait till they'd weathered and washed some of the 'new'ness' out of them. That was the only warning.
As Silvercar suggests, just wipe occasionally, but obviously depends on useage. We used a dog hammock when transporting big doggos in the 3, and that works fine. And the same with the Y, if they can't all go in the boot, so to speak.
Speaking of white paint, my neighbours are on holiday, and I'm on cat/hedgehog feeding, and plant watering duties. There daughter, who I know, and liked our TM3 so much, she bought a TM3P last year, is on holiday with them. And just to taunt me (I suspect) parked her car in their drive, so I have to see it every day, but she declined my kind offer to 'take it for a quick spin every few days, to keep the motors turning over' ......... anyways, I have to say it does look quite dirty, but spruced up a bit in the recent rain.

I posed the below on another forum where people were saying they generally buy 2 year old vehicles and keep them. Basically a leaf 62 at 2 years old seems to be similar price to a ford focus.2 year old 225 mile range nissan leaf from £16k - equivalent 2 year old Ford Focus about £15.5k - although of course the Focus is considerably slower.I think....1

Current electricity spend is about 5p/mile on home charging which should drop a little from July. Focus would be running around 15p at the moment at a guess.
10p/mile is £50/week for me so complaints can't really be made. I'd probably have gone for either another XE/Mondeo/similar, which are known to depreciate a bit faster than the Focus.💙💛 💔1 -
JKenH said:I imagine, also that a red one will be easier to sell than white, simply because it is scarcer. I doubt that there are so many white Teslas on the road because it is the colour everyone wants. It is the cheapest and hence popula4 with fleets. It also says, with Teslas, says this is all you can afford.
We ordered our car, settled on the red with black interior, only when the Assistant went into the system to log the order, he piped up that there was "one only" white one available, but it is cheaper than the web-site listed vehicles and, rather than being £2k less than the red one was £5.5k less. (£3.6k less than website price for the white one.)
That was a massive extra discount and, frankly, buying a red one at that kind of differential was really not something we could justify.
We qualified for the free wall charger, apparently, though there was nothing on the paperwork to confirm so I sent a note back to state that was what we expected.
We do qualify for the 6k SC miles, subject to accepting the car in June. However, even though the car we ordered is an inventory model "Ready for Delivery", it was not possible to confirm exactly where or when we would be able to collect. The earliest firm date we could book in and get fixed is 2nd July. Conveniently just outside the qualifying for the SC miles - must be delivered in June. We have pushed for the delivery to be brought into the month. It makes you wonder whether the free SC miles are ever actually obtained...
We were also not able to use the referral code as that was a small number of SC miles against a specific list of vehicles. The one we picked was not in the list.
I'll keep you all updated when we actually get to take delivery, especially with regard to the incentives actually being honoured (or not).silvercar said:Ours is a lease car, if that explains why it was delivered.
When we placed our order, the Assistant said, you will see an option for the car to be delivered, please don't pick that as it is not something we can offer at the moment and the order will not process correctly. The cars have to be collected from a handover centre.
I did read something, somewhere, sometime that TESLA were exposed under consumer rights rules for the cars that had been sold as totally remote purchase sales as they had not given the correct wording about cancellation rights and therefore all cars could be returned as "change of mind" 14-days because the 14-day clock never started. This right does not exist if the deal is "click-and-collect". Maybe TESLA just simply decided to stop any totally remote purchases for that reason.

Very interesting, how the "only one" appeared at exactly the right time for us. It was just after I'd mentioned that we were disappointed to have missed out on the scrappage incentive by selling our old car privately for £1k. Of course, the official narrative is that if we had not sold the old car, we could have had the scrappage on top of what we agreed.
I'm impressed by Tesla - I only e-mailed them my clarifications late this afternoon (Sunday) and, within 20 minutes they confirmed the wall charger is qualified for.
I hope they'll confirm the SC miles also - they just advised it apparently takes "up to" two weeks to make a stock "Ready for Delivery" car ready from order. That would explain the 2nd July - exactly 2 weeks from today. If they can pull it in 2 days earlier (Friday instead of Sunday), then we are within June. It is quite possible that the back-office teams that do all this only work Monday-Friday plus, of course, the whole idea of the incentives is to ensure that the TESLA quarter-end figures are as favourable as possible would be missed if they end up delivering the cars that have been ordered over the next two weeks out into the middle of July.
However the price was pulled out of the hat, I am certainly not complainingThe resultant £5.5k delta to a red one was also great as it killed off any deliberations.
