Fleets beginning to see discounts on new electric vehicles

I see EDF have finally brought back an ev tariff - 5 hours at 8p per unit and 47p all other times - would work for those with a battery but I think there may be an EV requirement. Would work for us with our V2H chargerI think....0

Fleets beginning to see discounts on new electric vehicles
We will be moving to Fiat (same van underneath, almost same specification, dual cab 75kWh specification) to the latest order and have been able to secure a reasonably significant discount on a batch of 5. Again, these are replacing 2018/19 Sprinters and there will be 2 such vehicles left in the fleet. These diesel vehicles will remain essential as they are regularly delivering medical aid to a specific country, however will be replaced in the next 18 months..The 2 are delivered in December 2019 and April 2020 so meet E6 requirements. We'll operate a fleet of 12 EV and 2 diesel Sprinters by November and for UK operations we have had very few problems. Our EU affiliated company won't be taking new deliveries of ICE vehicles, so are aiming for a Stellantis.for the replacement and expansion, but range will be an issue for a limited part of this fleet. 16 vehicles will be the ultimate maximum size in the UK however the EU fleet could expand to 70-80 vehicles over the next 4-5 years. The fleet in January 2022 (when the order was made) was 100% Mercedes and 100% diesel. We average approximately 40000km a year for the UK fleet and approximately 75000km a year for the EU fleet. These are used for a specialist role.
We have the Enyaq now. It's done 2 days for OH to get to Luton. I've been sick on return (with a really bad infection), but the battery is better in terms of range than mine. She's not (yet) willing to risk a third day, but I 'borrowed' it this afternoon (first time driving since back, mom went with OH to pick it up) and OH will be working from Gatwick in the latter part of the month, so that will be an ultimate test. If you need to know where we live for information, pop me a PM and depending on whether I've communicated with you before, I may give you a first part of the postcode. We're temporarily keeping the Yeti at OH's request (it's currently on moms drive), however this will donated to the Ukrainian military with some medical supplies as soon as she's comfortable (hopefully in a few weeks) as whilst it will probably last a few months in a military role (with a new MoT), we don't believe it doesn't need major work later on and would prefer not to have the hassle of someone coming back with a fault in 12 months/whatever..💙💛 💔2 -
That's an inspiring account for the fleet conversion @CKhalvashi
I have certainly noticed more EV light-commercial vehicles in our area - post deliveries, Amazon deliveries plus one tradesperson with an EV (possibly hybrid) Transit.
Added to the EV / hybrid buses which are becoming more common.
Not much softening of used EV car prices so far as I can tell, but TM3LR seems to be £46k right now (£39k for the SR) - that is as low as we've had since COVID I think. The TESLA prices certainly make it difficult for MG / SKODA options to appeal.2 -

Totally agree with Grumpy, great account of a fleet transition.
I've also noticed a lot of BEV vans recently. The green flash numberplate is working out as a very clever bit of PR. Doubt I'd have realised most of them were BEV's.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.3 -
I'd noticed the BEV vans (and buses) by virtue of their silent passing by, rather than number plate flashes - hence why I was not aware whether they are hybrid or EV.
I think the hybrid cars have improved also since I had my Auris hybrid (2014) - that was virtually impossible to get to work in Electric drive whereas I have seen a number of hybrid Toyotas noticeably in electric drive.
Does anyone know where I can see the price history for Tesla cars? Used ones seem to be holding up well in price - I'd like to be LR under £30k - but new SR at £39 is getting tempting.

No wonder Tesla is keeping US production for the home market and having to import cars from China for the Canada market.
