A spokesperson for Armtrac Security Services said: "Upon further investigation regarding this matter, the incorrect payment instructions were left on the machine when it was installed recently at Mayon Green for which we can only apologise.
"The machines don’t belong to Armtrac Security and after a conversation with the landowner, the details have now been removed from the machine. They also send their apologies.
"This was an honest mistake made by the landowner and wasn’t intentional. All the other signage at the site has been updated to reflect the change and states that the full and correct vehicle registration number needs to be entered when making payment."Surely that won't fix the problem, they need to change the signs - or change the actual machine.
Blinded by the amount of money it will generate lol

Surely it's probably got to be worth getting in touch with a Data Breach Law specialist as all that Data was obtained, shared and handled incorrectly and very questionably. Who knows how many people were charged, pursued and harassed by multiple parties on the grounds of breaking a contract that couldn't technically or legally be formed or exist due to the unfair/ impossible terms! 🤔
I'm not sure if Keller Postman would take it on as they are going after the DVLA, but I'm sure plenty of smaller firms would take it.
If you've already signed up with KP for the DVLA group action this will supply extra useful evidence of the DVLA's ineptitude.2 -

Reply just received from Citizens AdviceDear Xxxx,
Thank you for your email on 30th June 2022 to the Citizens Advice consumer service. Your reference number is xxxxxxxx. We understand that you want to report Armtrac Security Services for setting up private car parking traps across Cornwall. We understand that you believe they have unfair contract terms.
It appears from your contact that you aren’t looking for civil advice, but are looking to report this issue to Trading Standards which we will do on your behalf. If you feel as though this is incorrect, please do get back in touch with us and we will be able to give you civil advice on this matter. However, in order to do this, we would need a full physical address for the company, including a postcode, so please respond to this email with the address so we can pass this information on.One step at a time ... Does anyone have a physical address?
