More spends today because living in walking distance of the local shop and being a YS addict is a bad combination 🙈£2.14 in total on a coronation chicken sub (YS - 55p from £3.69), tomato soup (YS - 37p from £2.49), a pack of chicken slices (YS - 52p from £3.49) and 2 packs of chips (YS - 35p each from £2.35 each). Also another 75p on soap. Also picked up nectarines, kiwis, leek & cabbage, passionfruits and egg noodles from olio. The noodles say not to freeze but plenty of freezable ready meals have noodles in them so I don't really see the problem 🤷♀️We have spent £129.88/£2307

I needed milk, yoghurt and fresh or frozen fruit today so very carefully made a short list and then arrived at the shops to discover I'd put it down on the sofa at home! Aargh, and then there were only nasty apples available in the Fresh Market stands at M*rks and the freezers at Mr T's had broken down again so were bare. Tinned or dried fruit for brekker tomorrow then, oh well, mustn't grumble I suppose but would very much like to.
I spent £7.76 at M*rks on cous cous, f/f greek style yoghurt, 4x organic milk, 2x YS new potatoes, 2x fresh beetroot, radishes, YS wholemeal bread and a cucumber and £0.69 at Mr T's on really nice tomatoes on the CC price promotion which makes my new monthly total £17.50/£120 and my average daily spent £1.75.
I've just realised that my milk hasn't been included on the receipt which is a bit of a result I suppose although I feel a bit guilty now as it was an assistant I didn't recognise so presumably new.

Big shop yesterday!
Used Perkbox to get 5% off my shop so spent £71.25 instead of £75.
Not only are things more expensive, there was definitely less choice of everything in Mozza. I bought the only box of cat food that wasn't senior left.
No YS at all as the only things going were not a good enough price.
We bought bread mix instead of bread. Cheaper and will last longer in the cupboard... But all the granary brands in Mozza were bulked out with soy flour which means I have to avoid it!Keep reading books!

Still on my holidays at the moment but will be back at home on Friday, anything left from our holiday house will come home to be used up over the weekend, and my first shop for July will be probably be a week today.
I have plenty of UHT milk in supply at home and some bits in the freezer to do me over the weekend, and I go to DDs next Sunday for dinner, so I shall hold off until Monday before doing any shopping
I have some cash squirrelled away to restock my freezer, as I defrosted it before my holidays, and only put back in odds and ends I had stored in DDs freezer. so I will do a complete inventory of what's in there when I get home .
Then it will be a case of looking at all the websites to see the best prices for what i want . I have Sainsburys, Asdas, Aldi's and Tescos all within 2 miles of my house, so I make a list then look at each website for the best price, and divide my list up into best possible prices
It's surprising what different prices there are when you compare .There used to be a website that did this but it seems to have disappeared. I know I will need fresh fruit and veg but can manage until a week today before shopping as I have frozen veg I know in the freezer and plenty of tinned stuff.

I've spent £3 cash so far, and £14 on food on my UNISON Prepaid card, which is a cashback card when you shop at Sainsbury's, Boots, Wilko....
Hope you’ll find us a friendly bunch here. If you haven’t already done so, please read the first few posts of the thread. There’s some really helpful information there.London_1 said:Still on my holidays at the moment but will be back at home on Friday, anything left from our holiday house will come home to be used up over the weekend, and my first shop for July will be probably be a week today.

I have a small shop to declare from yesterday: £1.15 spent on biscuits in MrT’s. This shop takes our spend to £56.25/£140, leaving £83.75 for the rest of the month.
I really must do some meal planning. Even if it’s only a rough plan, I find it takes the stress out of things. It takes one thing off the mental load.

£8.75 spent at the co 0p yesterday. That’s what you get for taking a child with you
I got milk, cucumber reduced to 13p, the £5 freezer deal and then my boy noticed all day breakfast sandwiches reduced to 74p so got 3, one for each of them. They don’t eat a lot in the heat so I was just glad to have found something they all managed. Definitely take after me in that I don’t eat in the heat, my husband is unaffected though
Need to get some bits later for my little ones last day of pre school tomorrowthen no more spending until the big shop Thursday.

It looks like the Trolley website may be similar to the old MySupermarket one - although I see that Trolley are also now pleading poverty and threatening to close imminently so probably not worth getting too set on using it!
Confirmed that M's block butter is indeed now being sold at £1.99 a pack by the way so probably worth sticking to one of the other Supermarkets for anyone that buys it.
I'm liaising with MrEH about cancelling the veg box this week - the contents don't look great and to be honest it's just not even close to being worth the money for us this time.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good Morning GC'rs
A £3.78 spend to log. Hopefully 'snacky' things for the summer hols are bought now. I also dropped on some YS'd grapes in MrA, reduced down from £1.20 to 64p. Not a huge saving in YS terms, but there were plenty and given the weather, I don't suppose the punnets would have remained in-store until the next knock-down time. We have grapes, where we had none, so.......
I'm still trying to make interesting and varied meals, utilising what we have - particularly anything gained via the waste diversion scheme. LG is doing very well with eating a wider and wider repertoire of foodstuffs (although they aren't always enthusiastic about it.......... 😕). Last night's success was a 'made up' version of
Mujaddarah, featuring brown rice, brown lentils, red onion, celery, garlic, diced courgette, diced carrot and red peppers, which I made in the pressure cooker. LG did note that vegetables were present, but ate up their portion, and didn't even comment on the brown basmati rice......... I had also added in a dollop of my tomato/vegetable sauce, and served the mujaddarah with toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds. I also added pomegranate seeds to mine and DH's portion. Unfortunately the pomegranate that I got in my MrL box this week was semi rotten (only obvious when cut open), so there was enough seeds to cover our bowls - they were bright and juicy and tasted fine, but then the other half of the pomegranate, the seeds were brown, and smelt funny. But still, it was at the bottom of the box, I hadn't spotted it when I bought the box, so didn't buy the box 'for' that, iyswim, so a bonus I guess.

Big shock with cat litter. Up from £1.55 to £1.85 for 10L. Still cheaper than ought else though
Definitely no notice re the milk going up from £1.05 to £1.29. Second in two months. I suppose the cost of cleaning bottles has gone through the roof, as well as costs for farmers. I shall cut something in the treats line to keep this going as it makes my SM visits less frequent.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
