Uber driver in Scotland forgets how to Google and discover that he couldn't have been pursued by Smart Parking if he had simply appealed without saying who was driving...

...instead he goes to the local paper who are equally clueless, and he blabs about who parked:

The article linked to is from the Edinburgh Live paper but it's about an Uber driver at a Not-so-Smart Parking B&Q car park in Liverpool. Still a mug though for not coming here first!

Amazed that a Scottish newspaper has such a bad memory about Smart and the havoc they caused in Scotland ... Pete Wishart MP knows all about that ?

    AND THIS ....
"This signage is approved by the British Parking Association"

    REALLY ???

Millions of drivers are stuck in parking app hell: More councils banish pay and display machines for hated cashless alternatives

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11931085/More-councils-banish-pay-display-machines-hated-cashless-alternatives.html?ico=mol_desktop_home

Out of touch councils and out of touch retailers who allow private companies to use this flawed technology.

    IE:
Council car park next to a private car park.
The app does not understand which car park so you pay by the popular Ringo and either way you stand to get a ticket.
All that depends on if you can get a signal ?

Have a car, be prepared to get conned. So the article says, Clive Betts warned the councils

This was discussed by Storm Huntley this morning on Jeremy Vine. Apparently if the app does not work you can pay by phone. Problem is that the phone line only responds to a perfect English accent. It does not understand Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Peaky or Yam Yam accents.

    Further to my post above.

Interactive Voice Response (ICR) technology is the pay by phone option to an app but it  does not regognise accents.
Wonder what drongo invented that ?

And in the news today .... Mcdonalds USA are clearly in trouble

McDonald's closes all of its US offices and cancels in-person meetings this week as it prepares to layoff corporate staff - after CEO warned 'difficult decisions' will be made

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11931299/McDonalds-closes-offices-cancels-meetings-prepares-layoff-corporate-staff.html

"In a letter to staff, the CEO warned that the company had become unfocused."

Does he mean that Mcdonalds in the UK hold their customers in contempt allowing them to be scammed BY the likes of UKPC etc
