Uber driver in Scotland forgets how to Google and discover that he couldn't have been pursued by Smart Parking if he had simply appealed without saying who was driving...
...instead he goes to the local paper who are equally clueless, and he blabs about who parked:

Millions of drivers are stuck in parking app hell: More councils banish pay and display machines for hated cashless alternatives
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11931085/More-councils-banish-pay-display-machines-hated-cashless-alternatives.html?ico=mol_desktop_home
Out of touch councils and out of touch retailers who allow private companies to use this flawed technology.
IE:
Council car park next to a private car park.
The app does not understand which car park so you pay by the popular Ringo and either way you stand to get a ticket.
All that depends on if you can get a signal ?
Have a car, be prepared to get conned. So the article says, Clive Betts warned the councils

Have a car, be prepared to get conned. So the article says, Clive Betts warned the councilsA One Parking Solution former stomping ground. They're no stranger to the dodgy parking app and spotty internet coverage. They would have loved this move if they were still doing B&HC's dirty work at Stanmer Park. With parking meters across Brighton and Hove being axed, drivers are furious at having to use a 'complicated' app instead.
Lucy, 58, visits the city's popular Stanmer Park four times a month to walk her dogs Lola and Blue. After learning that the Green council will scrap the meters by the end of May, the school support worker said she would 'boycott' the park for good.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

"In a letter to staff, the CEO warned that the company had become unfocused."
