UKPC named & shamed for illegally (yes, a clear Equality Act breach) penalising a disabled driver for 'overstay':
https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/23412268.disabled-customer-swindon-b-m-tears-fine/
The BPA must be so proud...this extortion has left the disabled lady in tears and scared to go shopping. UKPC ripped £60 from this B&M shopper and have not responded to the newspaper.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

And the IPC must be very proud of i-Park Services who are running a nice little earner in an old Iceland Car Park, that the PPC has told this paper, operates a TWO MINUTE CONSIDERATION PERIOD:
https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news/hull-east-yorkshire-news/womans-shock-60-fine-waiting-8279513
The grinning, money-grabbing PPC gave the journalist a lecture in the difference between grace periods & consideration periods, got the new Code of Practice wrong and boasted it doesn't apply yet anyway and they can make it up as they go along because the IPC CoP lets them::
"Presently each car park operator can set a consideration period for car parks that they manage on an individual basis. The car park in question has a consideration period of 2 minutes whereby if a vehicle remains after 2 minutes and a payment has not been made a parking charge notice will be issued."
Right. Two poxy minutes.
Honest people might well conclude that's just the sort of sharp practice that caused MPs to recognise that the private parking industry is operating an "outrageous scam" (Hansard, Parking Bill debates, 2018).
A question for Will Hurley:
Do you honestly think that TWO MINUTES is long enough to arrive, park, get out of your Bentley, read and consider some small-print on an IPC (joke "audited") crappy sign on a side wall and realise you can't park there, go back to your car and strap in yourself/kids and drive out, past the entrapment camera?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Maybe the poor man can't read @Coupon-mad? Anyone who can (and all who can't, bar one) would realise that 2 minutes is simply helping build the case against PPCs with uncanny speed and efficiency. Thanks for your ongoing work to right this wrong. Love Humdinger x6

"The grinning money/grabbing PPC............"No wonder he is grinning:-"Steve Gooding, director of the RAC Foundation, said:“If only the rest of the economy was booming like the private parking sector, perhaps we’d all be feeling more prosperous."5

When Sir Greg Knight was reading his bill in the house of commons for the new code, it was said very clearly that it will not only be parking companies who will be terminated but the ATA's as well if they misbehave. The BPA ARE OVERDUE to be terminated for introducing the mega OSNER scam.
Did government ever think they would appoint a scam organisation
And of course, the IPC/IAS ..... and the wild animals are no better than scraping that bad muck from your shoes
Wake up the RISHI GOVERNMENT and cull this extortion racket

Like the Curate's Egg, this report about a motorist's battle with Group Nexus over a double dip is quite good in parts, but dire in others.
How one man's war against a £100 private parking fine could invalidate EVERY ticket sent by an ANPR camera (msn.com)

The 2 man band trading at diszzy heights again .... GROUP NEXUS
"A spokesperson for GroupNexus said: 'There are no issues related to the use of ANPR or the quality of the data produced. In addition, our experience in reading the data over the last 20 years has89 established a clear process for enforcing parking restrictions or not, at all our locations"
What a load of tosh ..... ?
Just another BPA MEMBER wriggling and showing government they are not fit for purpose
Sad to hear about Excel's destruction on Broomhill shops in Sheffield. That's heartbreaking to see these local traders and businesses livelihood suffer/ die due to some greedy ex clampers who don't give a crap about the City they are based in!!!5 -
Coupon-mad said:Yet another deluded publican thinks their premises need ANPR to inflict aggressive surveillance and £100 risk every day on EVERY CUSTOMER, instead of simply putting up their own signs and either a barrier gate or even an 'honesty payment' secure box (which would make an extra income for them out of the waiting cars that come & go):

The other day, I said the above.
Here is how it's done FAIRLY at a similar busy pier location, this time in Scotland:
https://www.dunfermlinepress.com/news/23414555.fife-parking-charge-scheme-implemented-limekilns-pier/"The original proposals (a PCN scheme) have been altered ... For the remainder of this year payment will be made via a secure honesty box and displaying of a parking ticket will not be required.
Drivers will not be charged if they have a blue badge and parking will be free for everyone for up to 3 hours. For periods over the hours it will cost £2 for all day parking between 7am & 10pm and £5 for overnight parking in one of 3 designated bays."
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
