Norwich Airport is newly infested by notoriously greedy chancers VCS, with signs that (unusually) have the extra £70 fake fee in 'big'.

Sneakily creating a contract of £170:

This trap has taken locals by surprise. And why should the supposed 'contractual charges' on this no stopping zone amount to an eye-watering £170, when on Council trunk roads near Airports (and in every city outside of London) Local Authority PCNs are £70, e.g.

In his response Keir Mather The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport said:

"Members in the Chamber will be disappointed to hear that the Govt do not believe that it is their role to dictate parking prices from Whitehall. The Govt expect fees to be set in a way that is both fair and proportionate."This is the problem with Govt they 'expect'.They're not prepared say whether they feel it is actually 'fair and proportionate'.And oh dear his stupidity shone through with this statement : "If drivers feel that signage is inadequate or that they have been treated unfairly, they can appeal" 🤦‍♂️ WHAT....to the appeals services the MHCLG are looking to replace 🤷‍♂️Interesting to hear Jim McMahon MP reveal Gatwick paid out £600 million in shareholder dividends.

    Have we seen this one?

Minster Baywatch dragged an 80 year old to court, and the PPC lost:

Pensioner Peter Woods wins court case against Minster Baywatch over disputed Bolton parking fine at Grosvenor Casino

    IMG_0915.jpeg

Mr Woods was able to demonstrate in court that he had paid the correct parking fee.

The Deputy District Judge ruled that Minster Baywatch had not provided sufficient evidence to prove he had entered his details incorrectly. Claim was dismissed and judge ordered Minster Baywatch to cover Mr Woods' travel expenses for attending court.

Mr Woods, who represented himself said: "I am really pleased that the judge threw out Minster Baywatch's claim". "It is a national scandal that private parking companies are pursuing claims against members of the public and using the threat of court action as a means of bullying people into paying money they do not owe.

"It is about time that the Government stepped in to properly reform the private parking industry to stop these practices and to ensure that members of the public are not subjected to the worry and distress that I suffered in this case."

Mr Woods, who lost his wife just weeks before the incident, said the experience had shaken his confidence and raised concerns about the accessibility of digital-only parking systems for older people.

He had parked at the Grosvenor car park while attending a medical appointment at NHS Bolton One Health Centre, only to later discover that the fine had been issued because the payment system had only recorded the last three digits of his registration number.

Mr Woods also called on Bolton NHS Foundation Trust to end its contract with a private parking company, which manages parking at Royal Bolton Hospital, because of the distress fines and appeals can cause.

Sorry. It’s the actual MSE thread introducing the change, but I’m b*ggered if I can fathom it out. I’m pretty much done!
