Be it JB or not, it is plain stupidity to make idiotic statements on a forum that crushes ROGUE TRADERS and their scammer legalsCoupon-mad said:

You don’t get free shopping at the co-op if card payments are temporarily unavailable. Parking is a privilege; not a right. What an odd analogy. Intention to permanently deprive would be the equivalent of turning up with a digger and ripping the tarmac up with you to take home.7

But the Coop might make some gesture of goodwill towards any customers inconvenienced by the lack of amenity in the hope they will return and continue to be one of their customers. .Kaizen2024 said:You don’t get free shopping at the co-op if card payments are temporarily unavailable. Parking is a privilege; not a right. Now, remind me please, how does a £100 PPC penalty face-slap encourage anyone to return to a car park? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I seem to remember shops having a few of the old manual card machines in case the EPOS goes down.Umkomaas said:

These are a thing of the past now, most cards don't have embossed numbers, but there are usually alternative methods available.I seem to remember shops having a few of the old manual card machines in case the EPOS goes down.Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:
'All nations attending the conference are only allocated one parking space.'

The Guardian Consumer Champions gets pcn cancelled for reader who parked at Cineworld Chichester to watch a film over 3hrs long.
The max parking allowance was reduced from 4hrs to 3hrs by the landowner in the summer with customers now having to enter their registration plates on a screen on arrival at the cinema.
The Customer was not advised of this on their booking confirmation email nor by Cineworld staff when checking in.

This one's in my neck of the woods....
It's difficult to determine who's responsible for the SILLY new car park restrictions at Barnhill shops in Broughty Ferry....the Landowner or newly appointed PPC UKPC?
Parking is now monitored by ANPR. Restricted to 2 hours max and wait for it…NO PARKING is permitted between 10.30pm and 6am despite some established businesses on site operating later than 10.30pm and EV chargers recently installed. 🤷♂️
I don't do Facebook but I believe it's been shared/discussed there.

(Hopefully a clickable link … this new "Rich" 🤦♀️ editor is rubbish).
An interesting quote from the article:
“To tell you the truth, I don’t know why they’ve been brought in; parking has never been a problem here.”
My guess is that the landowner has been hoodwinked by UKPC. But given that this is in Scotland, and PCNs will be sent via post, then registered keepers there can simply ignore them. 🙂

Oh thank you Jenni_D. God I never noticed my links were now not clickable 🤦♂️ Managed to correct Guardian one though not sure I'll remember how I did it!
____________
Agree with that statement in the article it's a busy car park though people would only use when using businesses on site as there is nothing else close by other than houses. And there's plenty unrestricted parking available on the main and surrounding roads. I've taken my custom elsewhere now I don't want UKPC ANPR cameras anywhere near my car.

West Quay Southampton is infested by Britannia Parking:
"Recently, I purchased a ticket covering my stay until 8pm and left at 8.42pm.
The car park signage explicitly states that the overnight tariff (from 8pm) is “Up to 1 hour *FREE".
Therefore, my 42-minute stay after 8pm should have been free. Despite this, I received a £100 fine. When I appealed, Britannia Parking rejected it.
Shockingly, their official letter falsely claimed the overnight rate is a “Standard rate of £5” completely omitting the free hour advertised on their own signs. It appears they are ignoring their own "free hour" rule to fine compliant drivers."
The BPA must be so proud.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
