We should remember this in case people get PCNs from TPS at this location:
    https://www.porthosp.nhs.uk/locations/st-marys-community-health-campus/96117

    St Mary's Community Health Campus.

The sign he took photos of proves the machines had been out of action for more than a month, Sept and Oct 2022 (and quite possibly still are).

Someone needs to tell the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) that their bright idea of telling Fleets to 'remind drivers about parking rules' is absolutely the stupidest wrong approach to this problem that I've ever read:
    https://www.fleetnews.co.uk/news/latest-fleet-news/electric-fleet-news/2022/10/24/ev-drivers-risk-parking-fine-waiting-for-charge-point

It almost reads as if he's turned to the APAs for guidance and swallowed their 'blame the driver' views hook, line and sinker...

Apparently: "the AFP is performing an important service for its members by sharing best practice solutions.”

    COME ON THE AFP!

    BEST PRACTICE SOLUTIONS?

Think about it. Engage your brain cells...do you REALLY think applying 'parking rules' to people charging an EV is fair and acceptable?

    What's the REAL problem here?

What might the REAL answer be, to protect fleets from this scam?

Couldn't the journalist who wrote the puff-piece have suggested the OBVIOUS best practice solution, that the AFP stop spouting the BPA/IPC line of consumer blame, and instead tell the DLUHC about the issues and provide a robust response to the upcoming Public Consultation?

An influential respondent such as the AFP would have some clout, and should damn well be lobbying the DLUHC to exclude EV bays from 'parking contracts' because charging ISN'T PARKING.

OMG, all it needs is a mention in the Appeals Charter or somewhere in the statutory Code.

  • Government wants electric cars but in their own incompetent way they don't think beyomd their noses

It is something that is being flagged up by a quite a number of our members as an issue and dealing with fines such as this is always a time consuming and surprisingly expensive administrative process.”

Is the AFP run by the the BPA ???   The pure stupidity suggests they are

Fines?  Fines!  Why don't they use the proper terms?

Woman vows never to return to Poole after an app VRM error:

Nice work, Britannia.  Drive people out of retail parks, attractions and tourist areas.  Who cares as long as PPC World can fill their boots, leeching off real businesses and their paying customers.

It would have been easy to identify the payment, AND she appealed, but Britannia and their 'no win no fee' thugs are now trying to extort £170 from her.

Man gets £100 scam charge despite the P&D machines not working:
    https://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/news/23079140.wycombe-rye-lido-man-slapped-100-fine-despite-ticket-machine-not-working/

"The car park is at Wycombe Rye Lido. James Gosnold visited the car park on August 27 and was unable to pay for a ticket, claiming both ticket machines were out of order that Saturday.

He was also unable to use his phone to pay for a ticket via the Phone and Pay app."

Not sure if we've seen this one, another double dip:

"Ms Beesley believed the faulty monitoring system merged the two visits together and slammed Park with Ease after discovering several other people had been caught out by the same mistake."

Nice work, Park With Ease.  An oxymoron of a name, if ever we heard one.

  • You know, I only hope that Rishi knows what he is doing after Truss took our country into a mega car crash
What is it with these people who appoint ministers that have been sacked or resigned ? it's like trying to wind up a broken clock

Gove being one of them, now back in levelling up together with Lucy Frazer MP, Dehenna Davison MP, Lee Rowley MP, Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE

Do these people even remember Sir Greg Knights parking bill which was approved by Rishi.
Do any of them know what is going on ?  Don't they know they are responsible for allowing this multi million pound parking scam to continue which is getting worse every week ?

Lucy Frazer MP who is a KC,  (no, not a chicken drumstick) was on BBC Question time on thursay ..... it was like watching a robot plugged into a computer waiting for answers

It is not rocket science to get the latest parking consultation online now. The longer they leave it, the more people will be facing this mega scam

They aren't leaving it, but new staff have to be suitably appraised.

The Impact Assessment has to be published and I am sure it will be.
