Criticism of parking management at UK Airports continues...NCP has wrongfully issued parking charges for non-payment to Taxi drivers who subscribe to AutoPay app for entering and exiting Gatwick Airport.Andrew Peters from the Brighton and Hove Cab Trade Association said “as the system is evidently not fit for purpose, then NCP should stop sending out PCN’s where they have failed to apply the parking fee to anyone subscribed to the AutoPay system."Chairman for United Taxi Driver’s Association said "The number of times a payment was not taken was “astronomical”.Gatwick said that it would be “working to upgrade” the camera systems at the drop-off and pick-up points but NCP deny there are problems and have said "it does not recognise any “wider issues” with their camera systems and was “confident” with its payment systems."IMO this is the cause of the uk parking problems PPCs don't carry out any Root Cause Analysis they just deny the problem exists.6

Something the Code of Practice Act was supposed to deal with by adding a postcode field to all KADOE requests to track "hotspot" areas.Nellymoser said:Criticism of parking management at UK Airports continues...<snip>IMO this is the cause of the uk parking problems PPCs don't carry out any Root Cause Analysis they just deny the problem exists.Always remember to abide by Space Corps Directive 39436175880932/B:

We tried. DVLA seem to like putting their fingers in their ears and staying in the pocket of the BPA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Be foolish of MHCLG to overlook DVLA'S obvious obstructiveness to change and unhealthy relationship with BPA.4

Smart Parking expert parking management fails to identify 'double dipping' incidents at Elms Parade shops in Botley.Drivers who visit the area twice in a day say they are receiving pcns from Smart even though they are not staying beyond the 2hr free parking limit.Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran raised concerns with Mace Group, the West Way developers, to understand what steps are being taken to resolve issues there. The MP added: "More widely, Parking operators and their practices are an issue across the constituency. Parking management is a wild west with a lack of regulation, and we will continue to push to ensure fair and consistent practices are adopted for all."Time the IPC and BPA organised for their members a training event on how to perform pcn manual checks as outlined in own CoP.5

It did surprise me how minimal the information they receive for electronic KADOE requests is. No pertinent info at all really: generic breach codes ("failure to abide by terms and conditions of a car park"), identity of requestor, VRM, date of contravention, time of contravention and then date and time of request with nothing else captured.Coupon-mad said:We tried. Finger in the ears type approach while failing to meet in my opinion the threshold of responsibility for a data controller in this environment.

Its about time that anyone who allows a ppc onto their land is made responsible and liable for things like double dips, and PPCs and their directors/management banned from accessing DVLA dataNellymoser said:Smart Parking expert parking management fails to identify 'double dipping' incidents at Elms Parade shops in Botley.Drivers who visit the area twice in a day say they are receiving pcns from Smart even though they are not staying beyond the 2hr free parking limit.Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran raised concerns with Mace Group, the West Way developers, to understand what steps are being taken to resolve issues there. The MP added: "More widely, Parking operators and their practices are an issue across the constituency. Government departments are ever thirsty for collecting data, whether it's for any real purpose or just because they want to.kryten3000 said:Home Office plans to use ANPR for tracking nationally:
