Excel lose court claim for the infamous Broomhill Rooftop Car Park, Sheffield.
Well done to the judge for dismissing the grossly inflated claim of £268 for payment taking longer than the 10 minutes allowed by Excel.

And their latest accounts show profits are even higher than reported.
Yes. Take it from me they've had an eyeful and work is underway.The_Slithy_Tove said:BTW, what is the state of the government imposed COP? Is it in the eye of the new government?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Have just listened to Radio 5 Live Breakfast programme follow up to yesterdays PCP hit. (todays available on BBC Sounds for 29 days). Issue discussed was the the 5 minute wait, then being hit with a charge.
The BPA put forward a voice of reason from the BPA ? Alison Toose? (between approx 8am to 8:30. I'm a bit bleary brained these mornings for memory)
She was as good as any politician at deflecting & not answering the question, but Rachel Burden followed up well and was clearly representing the many "blood boiling" incidents listeners had sent in.
My concerning issue is the way the PCP industry's CoP is being seen as THE CoP.
The Government one seems to be receding.
Has it been buried?2 -
From 4 – 4.30 pm today (Tuesday 14th January 2025) there is a debate in Parliament (Westminster Hall) led by Sonia Kumar, Labour MP for Dudley on parking in town centres.
I don’t know whether this has anything to do with parking tickets, but anything that raises awareness about parking issues in Parliament must be good for motorists.

I've had a quick look at Sonia Kumar's detail on parallelparliament.co.uk
Young, new to Parliament, trained physiotherapist. Appears morally positive and not corrupted by sponsorships. Plenty of contributions, though no history of PCP issues. Closest link being a question on impact of parking charges in Dudley, and an invitation to initiate a debate from Lucy Powell (Leader of House of Commons)
In the town of Dudley, the Conservative-led council has proposed the introduction of parking charges. That will affect students from Dudley College of Technology, learning development, local businesses, traders, users of the leisure centre and my residents, who will struggle with the costs. Will the Leader of the House allow a debate in Government time on how we support town centres and properly consider the potential negative impact on economic activity and community wellbeing caused by the hiking of parking charges?2 -
It's PPC (Private Parking Company) by the way, not PCP. (That's a finance model).Jenni x1

That's dyslexia hitting my TLAs. Thanks.

Well that was disappointing.
The debate; To consider parking in town centres.
Concluding vote; Have we considered parking in town centres?
Conclusion; Yes
But ignored the elephant in the room that drove car parking away from my local shopping centre.
Cheating Parking Charge Notices!!
