BPA - are you actually proud of what you do?  Honestly, I don't know how you, the IPC or your greedy members sleep at night, unless you were born without a conscience or semblance of consumer ethics.
The BPA in particular are  "THE ORGAN GRINDERS MONKEY" ..The money scammers run the BPA and the pointless IPC is just the copycat that follows on behind

Mr Terry said he was left perplexed by a response to his appeal which said the Car Parking Partnership was “unable to locate any vehicle details that match or resemble your vehicle registration” – despite the fact the fine showed a picture of his car leaving the car park."

A wonderful example of "reasonable cause" spouted by DVLA to give motorists data to any willy-nilly  -  I am sure that this and other scam examples are well known to the DVLA but nothing is ever done.

    Hopefully this is actually valid:-

"Important information about your KADOE data and the DVLA

You are reminded of the conditions of the KADOE (Keeper At Date Of Event) agreement signed between DVLA and your company, and the contract signed between your company and VALCON."

"Requests for information must be in connection with your trade or business for one of the following reasons:

    Cars parking on private property
Releasing vehicle information to landowners or their agents helps to find the keeper of a vehicle that has:

obstructed access to land or property
    been abandoned on private property
been parked without payment of the relevant fees
been parked without the right to do so, eg in a space reserved for disabled motorists"

    At the bottom:-

"Information cannot be released for any other reason
DVLA will monitor your use of KADOE and conduct periodic audits to confirm compliance with the regulations.

DVLA must meet the requirements of the Data Protection Act, and false declarations may be referred to the Data Protection Registrar as a suspected breach.

The ongoing scam site at Wrexham rumbles on, with local MSs wanting to speak to Euro Car Parks but ECP cancelled the meeting:
    https://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/23732022.mss-continue-battle-wrexham-island-green-car-park-issues/

“Dozens of constituents and non-constituents have informed me they avoid Island Green altogether because of the parking problems. High streets are suffering as it is so creating further barriers that put people off shopping is clearly nonsensical."

    "Put off" = to deter.

That's an effective deterrent right there!

Deter people from shopping - literally drive them away - and you can hoodwink a credulous landowner into thinking you've eased congestion in the car park.  And some idiots would believe it.

Lesley Griffiths seems to know the right buzz words ....

Wrexham’s MS Lesley Griffiths said: “Despite my regular and ongoing correspondence with Euro Car Parks (ECP), constituents and non-constituents are still contacting me regarding unfair parking charges at Island Green Shopping Centre, often relating to ‘major’ and ‘minor’ keying errors.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

    Here's another one:
    https://www.shropshirestar.com/news/transport/2023/08/19/holidaymaker-shocked-by-telford-tesco-car-park-fine-for-using-electric-vehicle-charger/

Can't read the whole article but this is the gist:

"A holidaymaker is angry after he was fined £70 for spending an hour charging his electric car on a Telford supermarket car park - because the free-parking time limit is cut from three hours to 15 minutes when the store is shut."

Embarrassment of a football team owner starting up his own PPC this year, to rip off locals with allegedly unclear signs:
    https://www.miltonkeynes.co.uk/news/people/new-parking-charges-take-people-by-surprise-around-mk1-shopping-centre-and-stadium-in-milton-keynes-4257376

    MK1 Parking Ltd

    Incorporated Jan 2023:

    https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/14621035/officers

"The paid parking came into force quietly in last month and is run by a new private limited company called MK1 Parking Ltd, of which the MK Dons chairman is one of the directors.

    https://www.mk1parking.com/how-to-park

The company states its main directive is to “capture driver/vehicle details so that MK1 Parking can enforce, car park terms and conditions and apply parking charge notices (PCN’s), where appropriate, to reduce the high levels of misuse.”

    "High levels of misuse"?

    Evidence?

    IMHO this is utter rollicks.

The BPA must be so proud of this crap.

Clueless publican gets duped into signing up a PPC with ANPR cameras:
    https://www.thewestonmercury.co.uk/news/23736988.summerhouse-pub-introduces-new-parking-measures/

The Summerhouse pub in Worle you have been done up like kippers.

AND YOU ACTUALLY CHOSE NOTORIOUS EX-CLAMPERS PREMIER PARK. WHY?

    Are you MAD?

Did you forget how to Google? They have an appalling reputation and have been named & shamed in Parliament by a West Country MP:

    The pub's deluded spokesperson chirps:

"New parking rules have been introduced for customers. All you have to do is buy a ticket and redeem it against your first purchase of food or drink."

Errmmmm no. It won't work like that.

HOW do you think Premier Park make money?

Too late for us to warn you now about how this ludicrously ill-advised decision will affect you, your staff, cleaners & delivery drivers with £100 PCNs dished out and you will be powerless to cancel them.

Your (ex) customers will be sued in droves.

YOU WILL LOSE YOUR REPEAT CUSTOM AND YOUR REPUTATION WITHIN WEEKS.

  • Should the T&Cs have to define the age of a child or is assuming 12 reasonable? Also should their T&Cs have to state that children should have to be taken out of the car?

And here we have a notorious IPC firm, I-Park Services, threatening another elderly chap with court because he couldn't make their useless machine work, and left WITHOUT accepting the contract:
    https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/uk-news/grandad-67-vows-go-court-27560518.amp

"Mr Christie drove into the car park on Canal Street in Chester on December 30 last year. However, he says less he left less than 12 minutes later because he could not successfully pay for a ticket on the pay and display meter.

He told Cheshire Live: "When you went in the meter was horrible. You couldn't read it. I stopped for less than 12 minutes and spent that time queuing behind others with the same problem trying to read the meter because of the sun's reflection and shoddy meter backlight.

"You had to input your registration. I tried all that with no joy and gave up. I'm 67 and my eyesight isn't great. I chatted with some other guys who said you could pay online. I tried and failed to download the app before giving up in frustration.  This completely accounted for the 12 minutes I was there."

The grandad-of-four, from the village of Bunbury near Crewe has labelled the machine as 'not fit for purpose.' He said the screen "was almost impossible to read" and that visibility was further impeded by the sunlight.

Unable to work it, he then attempted to pay online but was unable to so gave up and drove out of the car park having "made a genuine effort to pay".

    Just clear off, I-Park Services.
    Same case as the above.

    Glad you've contacted him @exongrad
