What !!!!!! reporting and more gullible victims who just pay the scammers:

Looks like he's going to get his money back.

Just look at the amount of information on the signs surrounding the ticket machine, and then the instructions on the machine itself. Looks like the DLUHC have underestimated what can be achieved in the 10-minute 'consideration period', especially as that clock starts ticking the moment the vehicle passes the ANPR camera!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Former teacher's credit rating ruined for 6 years because Creative Car Parks (aka CEL) couldn't be bothered - apparently- to comply with the BPA CoP and trace her address before litigation:

    https://www.basingstokegazette.co.uk/news/23570451.woman-charged-using-basingstokes-red-lion-hotel-five-years-ago/

Christine Hunter, a former teacher at The Costello School, committed the heinous crime of staying at a hotel to assist with the exam season. AND she registered her car.

Sadly, she just knee-jerk PAID THE CCJ RIP OFF IN FULL before checking to discover (too late) that she didn't have to pay it and that it would still affect her credit rating.

Even more sadly, she wrongly thinks she has to pay a solicitor to remove the CCJ now, despite the fact she lives in the Southampton/IOW Court circuit, where setting aside that CCJ will be a shoo-in.

Creative Car Parks (aka CEL) named and shamed.

Anyone fancy trying to contact her via the paper? She just needs to come here!

What is wrong with hotels who employ money scammers, it's a death wish ... same with pubs

Near me there is a Crowne Plaza and there is a barrier gate which lifts as you drive in. There is no time limit and to get out, reception will give a token to lift the barrier. They either need a room number or receipt from the restaurant

This method is acceptable and shows common sense

It does beg the question how much are hotels/pubs paid to employ these cowboys and vermin and hold customers in contempt

Now we must name and shame

    The Plough pub Tilehurst

The journalist forgot to spell-check ANPR but the point is really that this pub is now doomed.  ABSOLUTELY STUPID.

That's their TrustPilot and TripAdvisor reviews ruined, their staff and cleaners all 'fined' and repeat custom almost dead within six months due to unsuspecting customers being the real targets.

Did this pub forget how to Google and find all the stories of ruined pubs and businesses, including what happened at 'We Three Loggerheads' pub in Wales, where Smart Parking's overzealous attack on genuine customers and staff brought the pub owner perilously close to bankruptcy. Any ANPR business model is in my opinion likely to cause "rape and pillage" of the pockets of staff & customers, as exposed here (article is about hospital ANPR but the approach will be exactly the same):
