Octopus have today (and through their partner suppliers Ebico) raise their fixed rates to crazy high levels above the expected price cap in October 22 and Jan 23
If you are an Octopus customer please consider the following Octopus plans quickly and get on them asap before you have no options ledt
Octopus Agile for Electricity
Octopus Tracker v3 for gas
I'm shocked at the fix rate price rise.0 -

You can get Tracker without a smart meter.

I'm shocked at the fix rate price rise. You can start the process of moving to Agile, but you will not actually be moved onto the Agile tariff until you have an installed smart meter working and delivering half-hour data.It is worth making the request to move to Agile before there are any changes to the tariff as Octopus do have a good track record of honouring the terms at the point of your request. This is NOT a guarantee though, but worth a shot.Tracker does not need a smart meter at the start so you can move to that immediately.0 -
There's Tracker for electricity too, capped at 40p/kWh with the standing charge the same as your SVT. Not quite as good as Agile but available without a Smart meter if you give monthly readings.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

For example, the Agile Electricity import tariff requires a smart meter which is set to a 30 minute usage recording profile. Octopus pulls data from smart meters on 30 minute profiles once a day. The loss of data from just one of 48 daily usage segments stops automatic billing as billing is based on usage not meter index readings. If Octopus is unable to pull the daily usage data, then it reserves the right to bill at its flexible tariff rate based on index readings. This is significant. Last year, following a firmware update, a certain make of SMETS2 electricity meter was returning daily index readings but an empty XML file. The XML file contains the 30 minute usage data. This situation persisted for 7 months until a firmware update was deployed.
The cost of electricity used shown on an IHD will be wrong as Octopus does not update the Agile tariff information sent to the meters on a daily basis: it uses an equivalent unit cost.
I am a strong supporter of Octopus’ time-of-use tariffs but they do the require the consumer to pro-actively manage their accounts. If necessary, Octopus needs to be advised if monthly billing doesn’t happen or any data loss can be seen in the various billing tools that are available. Octopus still describes Agile import as a beta tariff: this hasn’t changed in the last 3 years.
Tracker is not a smart meter tariff so it doesn’t come with as many potential traps for consumers.0 -
Has anyone got links for Octopus Agile for Electricity and Octopus Tracker v3 for gas. If someone could kindly put up the links I'd really appreciate it. I'm bit confused. I want to make sure i'm signing up for the right thing.
I wonder why it isn't offered more clearly on the Octopus site.
I believe that the electricity is capped at 35kw and 21 per day. Is the gas also capped?
Is this the correct link? https://octopus.energy/tracker/0 -

https://octopus.energy/agile/Agile is only available for electricity, not gas. The closest thing to Agile for gas is Tracker. You can find your current Agile and Tracker tariff details here (enter your postcode, DO NOT CLICK THE BUTTON):pearl123 said:Has anyone got links for Octopus Agile for Electricity and Octopus Tracker v3 for gas. Good morning all
I started my switch to Octopus a couple of days ago from Shell, mainly because Shell now only have the one tariff - Flexible 7 which is variable.
After reading all the many helpful posts here (thank you everyone) I decided Agile 2018 (electric) & Tracker V3 (gas) we’re the tariffs for me. Yes they will cost me more now but come October I will be saving.
The only fly in the ointment is the time it takes. If like me you are changing suppliers, Octopus will take you on but only on a variable tariff. That’s fine as the rates for me are very similar to Shells Flexible 7 but I now have to wait until my switch from Shell is complete before I can then switch to Agile & Tracker.Obviously my worry is that Agile & Tracker rates increase or are pulled whilst I wait.Octopus email this morning says I should be with them by 28th July so I am panicking a bit.
I hoped it would be sooner as I am in a new build with Smets 2 meters. The email also said I would then be able to switch to any tariff if available!!!!I would feel much happier if I could switch to Agile and Tracker now and pay the capped unit rates to start with until Octopus have me on board fully with half hourly readings for Agile. At least I could stop worrying about October.0 -
