Octopus, have they let down their SOLR customers?
Options
Edited 8th July 2022
Octopus have raised their fixed deal today and to be honest its horrendous.
If you are stuck with Octopus however there is light at the end of the tunnel if you act quickly
Octopus Agile for electricity capped at 35p kWh
Act fast before these are changed
_-------------------------_
I feel sorry for any customers moved to Octopus when their energy company collapsed.
There has been no decent fixed rate to choose, nothing for months despite other lucky people moved to EDF, BG, EON etc have been awash with various good rate deals to see them through the winter and the upcoming price rises.

I know a lot of people love octopus and tracker or agile and go faster which is great for EV's but most don't have an EV or want to play the stock market in energy they want a decent fixed rate to see them through the winter.

When you put it like that, it's pretty unfair, that they've had no choice as to who they've been SoLR'd to, and they are all offering different deals....or none!!
Talk about a lottery!
At least they didn't lose their credit balances😉.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
They have had the cheapest SVT though, a whole £2 per year cheaper then everyone else. They also currently have a £4 per month loyalty discount for customers who have been with them for over 8 months. Plus they need the money to buy Bulb Energy from taxpayers.0

Best customer service, most controllable DD's, no exit fees and you can pay by any method without penalty.
Yep, you're right. A total let down.

I had expected octopus fans on here to only see one side but perhaps you can imagine being moved to an energy supplier where what you need is a fixed budget at a decent fixed rate to plan or feel comfortable.
Octopus have failed those SOLR'd customers in my opinion but I am well aware of their fan base and for go and potentially tracker I am also their fan and seriously thinking about what I need when my two year fix is up0 -

Yes this was a lottery I am glad I ended up with Eon Next then a fixed rate that was impossible to get with the tentacled one.
My credit of £50 was indeed safe lol0 -
Many former Avro customers could have jumped to :

The market is a mess, global supply is a mess, we all have to live with that.Mstty said:I had expected octopus fans on here to only see one side but perhaps you can imagine being moved to an energy supplier where what you need is a fixed budget at a decent fixed rate to plan or feel comfortable.Mstty said:Octopus have failed those SOLR'd customers in my opinion but I am well aware of their fan base and for go and potentially tracker I am also their fan and seriously thinking about what I need when my two year fix is up5
