Did you take a fix deal?

Did a 2-year fix in October last year so I'll have paid over the odds for a few months compared to staying on the variable rate but I'm much better off now.2

Yes, but it's a gamble either way, I think I'll stay put and see what happens, it might not be as bad as people think, compared to the fixed rates available at the moment which are all inflated anyway.markin said:
Have to wonder if its worth jumping to a new good fix Now, Who knows what the October fixes will be.Astria said:Still paying 15p/kWh for electric and 4.9p/kWh for gas so it seemed a little daft jumping onto a tariff where it's 10p gas and 30p electric with the massive hikes on SCs. Finishes this October and I'm a little scared!

I'm staying on SVT for leccy I think but I've moved to a Tracker on my Gas.4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.1

But isn't the v3 tracker cap on electricity expected to be less than the new leccy rate come October 1st? Maybe...possibly even 42p per kWh depending on what crystal ball you are looking into.Spies said:I'm staying on SVT for leccy I think but I've moved to a Tracker on my Gas.0 -
I fixed for two years with EDF last week on their Fix Total Service May 24v3.
Elec - SC 44.75, Unit 33.86
Gas - SC 27.22 Unit 9.6371 -
I'm sticking with Octopus SVT for now, partly due to Ofgem looking into doing something to reduce standing charges.
Sticking also because a fix is such a large increase in monthly direct debits. It's impossible to know what is the best route.1 -
It is know Octopus do not have any competitive fixed rates sadly. I feel people that have been moved to them as SOLR have missed out as EDF and BG have had some very good fixed rates on the past month.pearl123 said:I'm sticking with Octopus SVT for now, partly due to Ofgem looking into doing something to reduce standing charges.

Leccy isn't as clear cut as gas for me.Mstty said:

I felt ok about choosing Tracker for gas but thought a good while before also going for leccy Tracker. Our solar & battery was only installed in March so I don't really know how it will perform over winter and what our use will be. If Octopus do come up with a decent fix I can always swap, there's no tie in or exit fee. In the end doing something felt better than doing nothing.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Solar PV 5.25kWp SW facing (14 x 375) installed Mar 22
Lux 3.6kw hybrid inverter and 9.6kw Pylontech batteries
Daikin 8kW ASHP installed Jan 25
Octopus Cosy/Fixed Outgoing1 -
Let me know if they do come up with a decent fix we have two relatives that ended up with Octopus as SOLR they need the stability of a fix, they feel comfortable with a fix it takes the stress out if their lives.Alnat1 said:I felt ok about choosing Tracker for gas but thought a good while before also going for leccy Tracker.
