I tried to fix with E-ON Next but they wouldn't let me as we can't afford the increase in the Direct Debit.  Has this happened to anyone else who is a Low Income Family ?

No harm in musing the question did state "What if" as in hyperthetical. @ultrasonic

However with all the new Conservative leaders putting in their cases one may mention it on their candidacy.

@Pinky what exactly do Eon Next say when you asked to switch to their fix rate.

Are you in debt to Eon Next at the moment?

Consider the help incoming £400 in October and I would.hope.beijg low income you are eligible for more assistance that all comes off energy bila

Didnt take a fix after our fix ended in June. Not sure whether I regret that or not. SSE are now only offering a 2 year fix which I'm not interested in as I don't want to be tied for 2 years

Now looking at the green energy 1 year sparkling fix and I just can't get my head around whether we should move and  fix or not.😔

I'm usually pretty savvy on this sort of thing but not this time round.

I fixed to Green Energy 1 year Sparkling fix today because the tariff is nearly the same as what the predictions are for the October tariff cap increase.I will bet on anything that there will be another increase in January and probably in April. So by moving from British Gas now I will be paying a few pounds more until October, when everybody will be paying the same as me, but I will be guaranteed no further increases until 30 September 2023! And if the tariffs do go down anytime next year then I can transfer out from Green Energy with NO exit fees.

If the new Chancellor, or OFGEM, decides in the future to scrap Standing Charges will the people with Fixed Deals benefit too or will they have to wait until their deal expires? I know it probably won't happen, but what if?

When I sold energy door to door for Scottish Power they had a no SC and SC option.  They always worked out the same total cost!
