I'm also paranoid when I need to take my passport somewhere @LittleMissDetermined, I don't know why I think it's dropped out of my bag when it's in an inside pocket of my rucksack 🤦🏾♀️😂. I use my driving licence as everyday photo ID, and I was chuffed to pieces the other day when I was ID'd for alcohol in Lidl! Though to be fair I am quite short and had my son's winter hat on so my grey hairs were hidden 😂😂😂.
Yes it is a boost that they want me to keep working with them, and if it all aligns when I'm ready for that kind of responsibility of freelancing again. But knowing that they have valued the work that I have done over the years is nice.
My son's 16 today, and he was so excited as I gave him a new wallet just after midnight. He's now on the "big man wallet flex" as he's never had a leather wallet before, let alone a grown up wallet. He was beside himself with awe and excitement when he realised that he had £50 in cash in there! It has a secret notes compartment, so that when he is out and about with his friends, I told him to put the majority of his money in there, so that he can budget a little and not have everything he has so easily on display. He told me that he's very grateful for everything that I do, and he knows that he doesn't always show it, and he knows that I try so hard to be good to him, and he's going to make more of an effort to be the best that he can be. I'm very proud of his maturity. He's come a long way in the last few months, so it's good to see.
He's offered to go to my mum's for the night tomorrow so that I have the house to myself for my birthday. I might go to the cinema to watch Smile as I like horror/thrillers.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

That’s so rewarding Keedie. Reading through your diary it’s clear just how much you’ve sacrificed and done for your son. Hopefully the type of man he is starting to become will reflect and make those choices you’ve made worth while!!!
I’m a massive horror fan also, but saving a cinema trip to see the new Halloween (even though the last one was not very good!!)
Either way, enjoy your birthday!!!!!4 -
Awwwww bless his cotton socks! Someone started cutting an onion! whilst reading that, I swear! It must mean the absolute world for a parent to hear those sorts of words come out of their child. We put everything we have into raising our children to be good, kind people so it's so reassuring when you see glimpses of years of blood, sweat and tears paying off!

Oh I love a good thriller or horror. I'm quite a true crime fan as well, and my son's always said that if I wasn't so down to earth and always trying to help people he would be sleeping with one eye open as I have an obsession with trying to understand the mind of a serial killer 😂. But I can watch any genre of film, I love films, TV series and documentaries or a docu series. I've even managed to get him into The World's Toughest Prisons documentary series on Netflix, so he's slowly coming around lol.
It was so heartwarming to hear him say all of that, and to know that he can actually see the effort and sacrifices that I have been making. We do put our all into raising our kids, and it's such a thankless task the majority of the time, but when you have moments like this, it makes it all so worth it! I was cutting onions as well when he said all of that.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes, that's so nice 😁. We went to a local Wetherspoons and had a late breakfast, as I gave him the day off from his online lessons today as everything is recorded anyway (I'm still covertly selling the benefits of homeschooling). He's run off now to see his friends from his old school and then we're going to TGI Fridays for dinner. I'm off to my bipolar support group this evening whilst he's spending a couple of hours with his friends.
I also had another think about the direct debits for my energy, and as the credit is so high, and they're predicting a direct debit of £183.47 based upon my consumption and the energy prices, paying £150 plus the rebate and the credit in the account wasn't really a good use of funds. So I reduced the direct debit to £100 and increased MBNA from £50 to £100 so that takes the pressure off me in both managing the energy and repaying the credit card and there's no impact to my budget and so I will still have the PAD pot at the end of each month. So thanks for nudging me to rethink things @AntoMac
I had some £2 and 50ps, so I put £7.50 into my sealed pot, and I'm getting super excited to open that tin, and I can't wait to see your total @LittleMissDetermined!

How wonderful to hear that from your boy Keedie, or should I say young man! Such moments really are priceless. Also, the company still wanting you to do work for them must be a real confidence boost.
I can’t deny I find those crime documentaries rather interesting too!

I’ve been following your diary as I can relate to the teen years with a son 😬 Mine was a pain in the backside but is now a fine upstanding citizen so there is hope. He sounds like a lovely son and a real credit to you 👏
