@AnnieRichards in case you still need a suitable tariff, Octopus now lets people with electric boilers onto Cosy.3

It’s 09:40 and the current ppu on the Agile tariff is 57.36. For most of the past 7 days it’s been very high and between 4 and 7 pm tonight it again goes to 99.99 ppu which means my heating would cost £9.50 per hour to heat to 18/19 degrees.
On the whole the Agile tariff has worked for me as I’m able to adjust my life around it because I’m a single person household but since the energy price rise at the beginning of the month I’ve really noticed a huge increase to the 30 minute ppu.
In 2023 my total energy bill was £1,260 (3502 units) and 2024 was £964 (3302 units).
Thank you for the heads up!2 -
Agile is at the mercy of the winds.
It might be dirt cheap on Fri.
That is if too many of the turbines don't have to lock down as too windy in the gusts across most of UK.
Around 55mph was a common shutdown level. winds in Scotland and N England gusting to 80 plus in Amber zone0 -
@AnnieRichards from your posts on the tracker thread I think you're now on Snug? Have Octopus sent the switching times to your meter and can you see your new tariff on your IHD (I'm assuming you have one and it works)?

Sorry, yes, Cosy; Snug is the storage heater tariff!I've got an Octopus Home Mini too, I agree it's a useful little thing.AnnieRichards said:I had my heating on for the first time since Jan 2023 and was boiling! Had to turn ift off again 😄😄
and I'm glad you're happy!

Well, at least they've got rid of that highly misleading sine wave graph of the hourly rates !0

Yes, I called them today and within a few minutes the new tariff on the mobile app changed and was showing the Cosy tariff along with the times and pricing. I don’t have the IHD, a few months ago I was given the little pink dongle thingy (sorry can’t remember its proper name!) which connects to my wifi and sends data directly to my mobile and iPad. It’s far more accurate from my experience and I can see my usage “live”; every 30 mins; daily; weekly; monthly and yearly. I do have a Smets2 meter which has been in situ since 2023 and as promised it seems to update immediately so not sure if that’s what made the switch so fast or whether the pink dongle has something to do with it. I had my heating on for the first time since Jan 2023 and was boiling! Had to turn ift off again 😄😄
None of those has any effect on the switch, they are just very efficient at changing tariff's most of the time1
