You’ll always be using some - ie freezer/fridge overnight.

Can you change it to kWh rather than £ so you can see how much energy is being used?
Hi Mrs F ... I've attached the image with kWh

You are all so helpful! How can I ever thank you?

That IHD seems to be displaying total nonsense.
There are five green bars each of nearly 1kWh, so I'd guess the total so far today might be about 9kWh.  Yet it claims that the 'Total today' is just 9Wh, equivalent to just one item using 0.5W standby.  But even that's infinitely more than the 'Normal usage' of 0.0kWh !
    Aren't Smart Meters wonderful?

Have you been using big appliances like washer/dryer/dishwasher today or is that only general fridge/freezer/computers/kettle/tv?

Hmm so midnight isn’t just the standing charge.

Are you night owls and still up between midnight-1?

At least that allows you to see you base usage too and what causes it to go upwards.

Not night owls at all ... all asleep by 11pm at the latest.

I used the dryer around 4.30pm/5pm for about half an hour.

I was out of the house from 2.30pm - 4.30pm and I even switched off my PC completely to conserve energy!
