I think you deserve pancakes after all that.

Ouch! I bet your legs hurt this morning!
  • I'm waiting for the pain to kick in 🤣🤣🤣 Don't think my legs have woken up yet
  • Today's adventures were sponsored by sleep deprivation 🤣🤣🤣

    And pancakes 😀

Dad is with the carer on a Thursday morning so I went off to homebase where I found a long queue which consisted of me and 11 pensioners 🤷
I'm redoing my room. Yes again. This time is probably not very much different to all the other times except it will involve paint. Expensive paint if the 8 euro per tester pot is any indication.
I've gathered everything up in cheap bags meant for recycling. It's organised according to KonMari principles.
Somehow I still seem to have just as much stuff as ever and nowhere but plastic boxes to put it. Although at least I now know what annoys me about the storage thanks to feng shui videos.

I did manage to declutter two old pc towers by getting Child 1 to remove the hard drives for me. He's 8 🤣🤣🤣
Chest of drawers from sister room is going due to mould.

Legs still not sore but am a bit spacy today ,🤷

What annoys you about the storage?
  • Because the room is so small I have tended to get tall storage. But it dominates the space and makes it look cluttered
  • Friday was requisitioned as a Day Off as I have not had a full day off in three weeks. In theory this is supposed to mean I get a complete break as in I am not responsible for Dad at all. In practice if I'm in the house the buck stops with me. So I have left the building 🤣
I am having a completely frivolous day. I'm going into town on the bus and going for a wander. Other people will be making my coffee and my lunch. I am slightly rethinking this plan as the bus stop fills up 🤦‍♀️
I have an envelope of cash and my bills have been paid.

That sounds like a brilliant plan. I was so tempted to takeaway coffee this morning but I got some cappuccino sachets instead (8 cost similar to one takeaway) then got myself a box of cream-filled meringues to top up.

    I have eaten the evidence.

I hope yours all lives up to expectations and you get your treats. Remember you've earned them so just enjoy!

  • Poor dad. He told the carer his day could have been better 🤣🤣🤣
Mind you this was after my mother had collapsed him on the floor 🤦‍♀️
I didn't spend too long in town, I'd mentally mapped out a route- Pret for a coffee (they don't do the 99p filter here boo) then KC Peaches for lunch then down the world's longest and most crowded street to the "antique quarter" for a visit to the charity furniture shop. I found no furniture but did come away with three books for me and one for Dad.
Got the bus home and then ran back out the door to go to ikea and decathlon. Ikea made second lunch 😀
Didn't buy any furniture (some ideas though) but I did come away with a frying pan, Tupperware, bottles and a cushion. Random AF. And then of course I bought a basketball hoop in decathlon.
Home: picked dad up off the floor and then did bedtime. Will be off to my room to dismantle some of the old pine shelving to be repurposed.
  • I did not dismantle the furniture. I figured I should try and calm down a bit before bed. This may not have worked. And dad woke up and I turned into a human sweatbucket. Lo and behold I have woken up with a lurgy. Test was negative so now I am figuring out all the ways to make Child 1 pay for giving me his cough.
