My husband has bluetooth hearing aids - absolutely marvellous. He plays radio programmes and Youtube to himself a lot but it also means he can have phone calls without any problems.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

I tried to write I am a fairly average human SH but my fingers wouldn't let me lie 🤣🤣🤣
I quite like the sound of those Bluetooth hearing aids Cherry. Dad isn't hearing impaired but I'd imagine they'd help bypass the background noise that distracts him. Adding it to the look into lost.
Time to process my day. Out loud and not in rumination. See if you can spot why I ended up spending 30 euro on takeaway.
I woke up thinking today would be my day off. Then teacup messages to say she can't get up. First I think the dog is on her then I genuinely worry that she has somehow become paralyzed. Go in to see what is wrong and find a drama queen.
Aunt arrives to help look after dad. Now she has a broken arm currently but still does everything for dad except help him to the loo. Not sure how she is related to my mother.
Dad in need of comfort again so up and down, doing various bits trying to contain the floor explosion in my bedroom. Go out for a nice peaceful walk only to find an older man fallen over in the park. Just scraped and in a bit of shock so stay with him til paramedics arrive. We have a nice chat and he walks off when they arrive on his own feet.
Go home and have a mini meltdown because I just want to be able to eat broccoli.
Hide under weighted blanket.
Put pencils in order including writing their number on top which is strangely satisfying.
Order healthy ish takeaway with a mound of broccoli.
Decide to spend 80 euro (when I have it) on a biomechanical assessment.
Carer cancels and so I spend hour with dad talking about tomorrow's football and telling him about fallen park man. Dad is concerned about park man and so I convince him that we will see him in the park on our walks.

I know one traditionally sends virtual hugs, but would you prefer virtual broccoli? I think you have earned it.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I like the idea of numbers on ✏️
I totally get why you had a takeaway. Sounds like you take after your auntAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

WD, sorry if this is superfluous to your situation, but just to say I've been a carer in my time (dementia), and I found Carers UK invaluable, especially the forum where other carers gather. (Doesn't matter it's 'UK' - the forum gathers all coping with this usually very difficult situation.)
Do give it a try if you have never done so. Everyone on the forum is very friendly, and very supportive, and everyone knows what it takes (and costs - and NOT just in money...) to care for someone....
All best possible, Cal.
(I recommend Carers UK to everyone who is a carer - and it's not just for carers of the elderly. Sadly many of the carers are looking after children with needs.)3 -
Virtual broccoli it is Cherry! I definitely do not appreciate hugs of any sort. Unless it is Dad or my comfort shroud.
The numbers on pencil tops is one of those things that is surprisingly useful SH. I find it annoying looking for the embossed label. I just used a white posca pen.
Thanks CalJo. I am wary of carer groups but I may dip my toe in the water of carer uk as I definitely don't like the Irish one.2 -
I have been reading more and more ASD assessment reports for my job and I'm seeing myself in then. I am tempted to get an assessment also. What are those headphone you mentioned?

The headphones I bought are Sony WH-1000XM5. They are quite expensive but do work for me. I've seen videos that say there are cheaper ones that work also. I also use foam earplugs.
I do love my headphones though. They are great for organizing sound for me so I don't have the sense that it is all over the place.

I haven't been able to motivate myself to write as much as I used to. These days I'm a bit unprogrammed.
A money update: honestly it isn't something I really think about at the moment. I'm like that though, everything has to have its turn and right now I think it is a time for healing. And if that means spending money the so be it. I have found that when I am not actively trying to control something like money I buy more meaningful things and also don't over consume as much.
When I'm honest with myself, there are several reasons behind why I can't manage money which have nothing to do with the actual skill of financial management itself. I can make budgets, invest money, save money etc.
Where I spend more money is down to not being able to remember things, getting overwhelmed in shops, figuring out what I'll be able to eat, comfort, getting a burst of confidence and then hiding what I really want to do...
That being said, I do need to spend less. Or earn more. This month work has been scarce and is now cancelled for another week as one of them has chicken pox. Not risking Dad with that.

A bit all over the place this morning. Had anticipated the carer coming at 9.15. No sign of him so started getting dad ready and then he turned up at 9.30. Thoroughly discombobulated now.
I'd planned to spend the morning in the garden. I started clearing it yesterday as there is a path which drives me mad every time I see it from the kitchen window. It had overgrown grass, dandelions and moss.
I am also clearing a space for a raised bed to grow some vegetables. This is a work in progress as Teacup is very resistant to any change in the garden.1
