Mystery shops are quite stressful I find. I'm always thinking I'm going to forget something vital. Got in a total muddle doing this one, was half asleep and mind went blank. Although inspired by ladywithaplans talk of dairy free I did buy almond milk. Which was 3.30! Thankfully 2 will be reimbursed. And got a free coffee 😀
Work finished for the week, children still intact.
Have made peanut butter pancakes using cornflakes. Bit random but good.
Soup in the pressure cooker, threw in wedges that are too spicy for dad on their own. Bit of space in the freezer now.

Remembered to do mystery shop report at 22.30 last night 🤦♀️ I always forget how much work they are to me.
Away in a hotel for the night 🥳 Arrived starving so ate dinner at 3pm and then went for a 30 min walk where I acquired a packet of jellies and a 4 pack of cupcakes which I am kidding myself I won't eat.
I have already eaten 2.
Probably need to put the phone away before my eyes explode.
Had a pleasant if not exactly money saving day.3 -

You can't possibly leave the jellies and cupcakes for some randomer to discover - why not share them with your Dad if you really need to resist?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Lol the jellies were opened before the bath had even finished running. One cupcake made it home and was shared with Dad (he's diabetic, people with dementia also can't cope v well with sugar rushes).
Have eaten all the things. And my money boxes have gone all over the place. I may have to abandon them anyway to be able to buy birthday presents for Teacup.
Breakfast in the hotel cost €18! Which is especially annoying as it was £5 if I paid in advance. Which I didn't because dad would have turned rainbow coloured or suddenly grown hair on his 50 years bald head or some other mysterious ailment.
So to make myself feel better about the cost I ate everything in the breakfast bar that wasn't nailed down. And robbed stuff to put in my bag 🤦♀️
Also to be fair the 3 baths I had probably cost the hotel €18 in electric/gas so I feel better now.

Sounds like a brilliant night away, glad you got your money’s worth out of the baths!Debt at LBM (Dec 2018): £23,167

I never knew that about sugar and dementia - just as well you took the sugar hit for the team!
Wow! to the cost of breakfast, I'm glad you got your fill plus the baths, that sort of discrepancy is shocking. Other than that it sounds like a good break though.
Have you decided what to buy for Teacup?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Yeah, he is caffeine and sugar free. Although he does get the odd piece of cake. There was an incident after a giant scone (that he had half of) when he stayed up until 3 am so after that sugar was banned.
Probably shouldn't give sugar to anyone who can't regulate I suppose.
Feeling the effects of over indulgence myself today. Carb flu 🤦♀️ yesterday I ate:
A huge breakfast1/2 cupcakeA crunchy barA pain au Chocolat
Fish and chips
Haribo
There was something else I can't remember. I'm just going to put that there in the hopes that writing out the list will shock me enough. It is surprising that I can fit through doors today.
Weaning myself down from the carb overload as can't be a carer and have kill all the things rage.
In other news randomly decided to turn out my room and completely rearrange it once again. Have put the mattress on the floor again as I much prefer it. Think I will make some sort of storage as a sewing project for all the pencils and random art equipment.
Money plans have gone out the window. I spent 9.99 today on a vpn so dad could listen to the football.
On the bright side I have spent way less than I would have without them.
Nothing for teacup as yet, my plan to get the crochet hook in the size she is missing was foiled. Now must also buy her chocolate from brother as he does not leave the house.
Much blowing off steam this week, none of which has done me as much good as I thought it would. Food for thought. I'd be much better off if I ate more thoughts than carbs 🤣🤣🤣3 -

On the bright side I have spent way less than I would have without them. It's bound to be both a long process and a learning curve and everyone comes off the rails sometimes. I don't remember if your plans include a piggy bank for your Dad's treats and helps, but it would be worth building in or increasing something like that. Listening to the football must surely be beneficial for him.
I know that makes everything else a step further away but it will ease the journey.
I bet the carbs were fun while you had them (says she who bought several chocolate brownies last night). Perhaps find a healthier treat to have before you go for the starch and sugar brigade, then after that you can have them? I'm working on having the five a day. I don't always succeed, but having it as a goal helps me. If I don't get five, I've still had two or three! It takes planning though and it's easy to run low on supplies.
Crochet hooks - I'm assuming she has the one you were going to get her? I was given light up crochet hooks for Christmas which I've yet to use as I'm working on a knitted project, but I'm looking forward to trying them in poor light or on dark yarn. There are lots of crochet accessories though. Would she like some pretty stitch markers or a project bag? I spend altogether too much time browsing the accessories sections of online yarn companies! If you can get access to a printer (I think you said there's not one in the house?), perhaps you could print out some of the free patterns on the internet for her?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living.
