  • Ha pacing myself. I'd like to think I'm doing that but realistically em no.

That soup sounds nice Satchmo1, not sure about the Worcester sauce though 🤣🤣🤣

DIA I am a bit of a hot and cold foodie. I can get quite into it then lose interest altogether.

In other news, have 'persuaded' Teacup to buy a Clever Chef Pro 😀. I'm hoping it will help me get a bit more organized food wise. I'm really struggling to meal plan.

Continuing to organize Heavy's room. So far have bought 60 hangers. I've already run out and I'm nowhere near finished.

Worcester sauce does really bring out flavour - I have been shocked at how much of a positive difference it can make as I couldn't have it 'raw' without it being cooked at least 10 mins...

Good luck on your new gadget.

Don't know what a clever chef pro is but I have a Insta pot thingy and love it. Actually thinking about it I might bring it out of storage to use at host's home if she'll let me (they take up space)

I use brown rice miso as Worchester sauce has gluten in it so doesn't work for me...

Enjoy the new chef thing :)

  • Sister Act's visit has commenced. Chaos has ensued.
Nephew stinking cute though. Babbling away, running around and generally into everything. He is now the dog's mortal enemy as he has all Nana's attention, thereby taking it away from the dog.

The Clever Chef is similar to the insta pot thingy. A pressure cooker with other functions as well. Apparently you can cook a whole chicken in it.

Nephew sounds a mischievous little handful.

  • KoK I have pm'd you the recipe. The coconut flour is pricey though. I think I might try with ground almond or cassava flour.

Ghibli I would check out some paleo recipes- quite a few comforting stew/casserole type recipes without the heaviness of stodge.

Dia I do think it is a flavour thing as well as a nutrient thing. The recipe book I'm looking at has all the flavours I seem to be drawn to.
    Thanks for that @WelshmansDaughter

It does look interesting, but I think I would be modifying the recipe to be less paleo, as I'm not about to splash out on raw honey and coconut flour!  :D Fortunately, I baked last night, so there isn't a cake shortage in my house at present.

I read your recent post and added a spoonful of honey to my loaf. Baking buckwheat and quinoa flour loaf today. The quinoa flour was horribly expensive but I will be using just 100grams. Hoping this loaf works as experimenting is expensive too...

Hope you slept well and are just up early

  • Dia you're an optimist 🤣🤣🤣

Dad was put to bed and Teacup took over. She tells me he went to sleep at 9.20. That wasn't to last unfortunately. Cancelled work at 4am. Poor man was hoicked out of his routine yesterday which never ends well.

I'm trying to recall if I have ever made gluten free bread. I think in my gluten free days I just didn't eat bread. I have made grain free cake. Priorities 😀 There is a recipe for grain free dinner rolls I was going to try but it involves cashew butter which I do not have in stock and beating egg whites which I do not have the arm strength for. Nephew is indeed a charming handful. A heavy one that likes to head immediately for the location you least want him to go.

I have just looked up quinoa flour and it is indeed expensive. Similar to the coconut flour I bought. Although have used that every day this week so good value.

The clever chef arrived on Wednesday and have been enjoying experimenting. The family have not enjoyed this as much 🤣🤣🤣 It does cook a whole chicken.

Double payment appeared yesterday and has evaporated like the rest of my money this month.

I bought a new coat in the charity shop for €25. Not too sure I needed needed it but the old one chafes and has tears in it.

Off to clean the bath so I can soothe my sore nephew handling muscles.💪
  • So far today I have:

    Had a bath
    Went for a walk
    Went to the greengrocer deli
Cooked spaghetti squash pizza pie, ginger apple pork burgers, cinnamon banana bread.

Despite all of this, I want a pizza 🤷

Funnily enough the more I cook the less I want to eat. Cinnamon bread excepted 🤣🤣🤣.
