and sprayed with vinegar spray. Cue wanting fish and chips all day 🤣🤣🤣

& that is why I stopped using a vinegar spray.  I can skip the fish & even the chips but the salt & vinegar - oh dear!

Fish and chips... drools... I have some in my freezer - may pop that on the menu for later!

Well done on helping your parents clear their clutter and cleaning...

  • I won't lie, I had fish and chips for dinner last night.
Yesterday was a bit all over the place, teacup off on holiday, heavy needing lift to shopping... Dad accused me of carting him all over the country 🤣🤣🤣
So far this morning has turned out the same. I'm officially tuckered out and it's only noon.
There are still a couple of things left to do before my trip and as soon as I remember what they are I'll do them🤦‍♀️
I've started thinking about my next project which is to deep clean the house I'm living in. It needs it.
I've been looking for work that I can fit around Dad. Babysitting lady has potentially got work for me 6 hours a week which if it happens will be great. But also gives me an avenue to explore, other than delivery which was a bit of a headache to sort.

Fish and chips is a good option if that's what it takes to get you through. This time isn't forever although I am sure it feels as if it is sometimes.

    You are tackling loads. Kudos.

  • One of the things I am slowly coming to appreciate is a more aesthetic understanding. I think now that if I got rid of stuff I could have a nicer space. That I don't have to keep the billy bookcases I bought 15 years ago if I don't want to.
Although I think I might do drawings rather than buy things this time around.

Adding to the debt pile, my therapist has sent through the statement of what I owe him. £400 gah. Although I thought it was 500 so bonus. He is ok with not paying it yet though.

  • Glad you had fish and chips last night.

  • Heavy left for Italy at 4.20 am, something which displeased the dog.
The house has calmed down immeasurably with the two of them away. The visual noise is still loud . I did manage to hoover the kitchen floor this morning before dad woke. I also phoned the computer shop to get a quote for data transfer. This will hopefully get the ancient PC tower out.

Having a vaguely lazy morning as Dad has gone back to sleep. All the laundry done and got the urge to start clearing the weeds from the back garden. Took one look in the shed then backed out again. Teacup has been throwing things in willy nilly again. Poor sore foot can't take the climbing.

How irritating on the shed after your hard work.

    Ouch to £400 outstanding bill.

One thing I find helps when shopping is taking a photo of the object of desire and saying I can come back for it another time ... Rarely go back...

With sentimental items trying to photograph rather than keep. But have a long way to go there

  • The advantage of being a carer is that I rarely go into shops. Dad generally can't handle them.
I don't generally buy stuff stuff, I usually fritter money on takeaway tea and food.
I've come to realise that Teacup and Heavy don't know how to organise. They don't seem to have that relationship to space. I've seen it a few times like when I worked in a warehouse and people would just abandon things right in the middle of the floor. To them an empty space needs to be filled, regardless whether it is a countertop or a table.
I'm not sure about the reasons why I won't get rid of things like the bookshelves, probably a fear of change. Also it gives me an excuse not to move on because 'I've always got to tidy'

It's also a handy barrier to socialising - as it's too messy to have anyone over...
