I wouldn't recommend the gin cream but the muffins are lovely.1

Put my foot down this morning and took the dog's chair out of the kitchen. It was blocking two cupboards and now I can store Dad's medical stuff somewhere at last. Of course this led to 6 other jobs including cleaning the bottom of the fridge 🤦♀️
I've now got a staging area in the dining room labelled To Sort/To Clean/To Go so hopefully they won't be in disorder for too long.
Decided to go on a YouTube fast for a week, my home page has gotten spammy again.
Found a memoir in the library called the Life of Stuff which is interesting so far.
I wish there was a board on here for just living as best you can. Eventually I assume I'll be debt free and then where do I go? I don't want to do MFW.
A few of my emails have come home to roost. The charity shop won't take everything but at least it's a start. I'll put stuff up on free cycle if I can. Two days may not be enough time.
There are two marks on the kitchen wall from the chair that are calling me to clean them so I'll be off.

Well today has been an adventurous day. Babysitting again and the youngest got stung by a wasp. Poor thing was not happy. 5.5 hours today and tomorrow so it all adds money to the pot. Before it all goes straight out again.
Have also managed to get shut into my room at home thanks to a faulty door handle. I shouted downstairs and poor Teacup ran up like her bum bum was on fire.
To top it all off I have walked into a protruding socket and now have a purple and red toe.
Oy vey.
Quotes have gone into the Too Hard pile SH. I only managed to get one after emailing four different people. I'm just going to buy a £40 piece of equipment and do it my way.
I have run into a stumbling block with the trip- I can't afford the security deposit. Some jiggery pokery will have to be done but my brain is so fried after babysitting that I'm even struggling to write this.
Despite feeling that all was lost the other day, I have been slowly chipping away at the mountain comprised of tiny little molehills. Ordered a new car club card after getting really frustrated not being able to find their contact details. This means I may be able to work a bit when in the UK. The charity aren't going to take everything I wanted to get rid of so I'll have to see what will be left over. It occurred to me in a slightly Dickensian twist that I could take some things to a pawn shop. Where I got this notion I have no idea. So I found a cash converters place and I shall give that a go.
Strangely, the urgency to get rid of stuff is lessening. Not because I am turning back into a hoarder but because I keep thinking of additional things to do and I'm only there for 2 days!

2 days is not a lot of time. Definitely pace yourself.
What's the security deposit for?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I have booked a campervan and there is a security deposit of €1500. I think I will have to go with the insurance option of €30 per night and reduce it to 250.
And buy travel insurance. Although that would be more in case Dad gets sick and I'm not sure that's covered.
Gone are the days when I would travel with just a backpack and a bus ticket!
Priorities for trip (as I see it now)
1. Clear the outside
2. See my nephew
3. Fix hole in floor4. Clean flat
To clean the place it will be necessary to get rid of stuff.
Ideally I'd make some money on the trip as well but thats in an ideal world.1 -
Things I don't want to do
-Get caught up in Hoarder Churning.
Keeping things in an empty flat is wasteful. Even if I do keep thinking longingly of my multi-tool.
-Over spend.
Both times I have been in the UK I over did the takeaway. I might have one Pret delivery (feel like I might need coffee somehow) as there isn't one in Ireland.
-Panic/waste time over thinking
I can only do what I can do. Analysis Paralysis is a time wasting device. Getting something done is better than nothing.1 -
Things to do today:
Bake fairy cakes for the kids to decorate DONE
Get Dad out for walk DONEWork DONEHave second breakfast DONE
Put away shopping DONEPhone pharmacy DONE
The tesco shop arrived beautifully packed, made me wish the fridge looked like that.1 -
Keeping 1 thing (multi tool) seems reasonable to me, even in an empty flat so long as you decide before you go because you’re right - decision making takes soooo long2
