Waves at DIA and SH.
The thing about my plans (and my sugar intake lol) is that even if I don't end up going I'm excited about the process. I'm in a better mood and nicer to Dad too.
The flat is a complicated question. I don't want to live in Dublin. I've gotten used to it but I do have to work to like it. Irish people are a bit much for me as well.
I'm not particularly great at knowing what I do want. I bought my flat because my sister was living with me and I needed a two bed. My feeling is that I want to keep it but my circumstances are such that it would be a relief to sell and reduce the amount I have to pay out a month. But that is thinking short term and I really do want to have longer term solutions for some things.
The One Page Financial Plan I have read before but I think I am reading it with more perspective now.2 -
Brilliant progress. It must feel good.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

What happened in between you & your sister living in your flat, and it not being rentable now?2

@stymied I had emotional problems and pretty much became a hoarder.
And no money at the moment to pay for repairs.4 -

The plan to go to the gym this morning did not happen. A certain somebody wanted his wife and not me to help him go to sleep 🤷
A direct quote- "This place is terrible."
I've been offered three days babysitting again this week so that is good. Except I forgot Teacup was going to go somewhere on Thursday so now I feel bad. Although she is getting up at 4am to pick heavy up from work so by Thursday she will likely be asleep.
Inspired by stymied's question I was thinking about the flat and how I got here. It wound up a very long post. And a bit depressing when I could only think of one project that I finished.

If only you knew someone who would be willing to rent very cheaply in exchange for helping with the repairs and clearing some of the extra bits and bobs although I would imagine it would be very hard to have someone else in your space2

Sadly I think it's all too easy to get to the point of overwhelm and then it seems to get worse from there. Maybe now you've had an extended period away it will be easier to let things go. Some charity places will come and do bulk collections if your stuff is suitable for charity. Would any friends or relatives near your flat be willing to help?Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

The plan so far is to donate as much as the charity will take. I have contacted a local one and they have said they do collections.
My thoughts have radically changed. I did think well if I keep it I'll have something to sell later down the road. But honestly I'm just thinking now it's such a waste. All the stuff has been sitting in my flat for over a year now and it could be used. All the electricals etc can go to someone who needs it.2 -
I went swimming 🥳
Genuinely surprised by how much fear there was before going.
I went in the evening in the end, I think early morning starts are maybe beyond me at the moment.
Still planning the trip, been a bit spacey the last few days cough sugar consumption cough.
I have heard back from a garden company who is going to take a look. I am slightly annoyed that I can't just wait until winter when everything will die off anyway 🤷 the quote will probably be too high but I'll hopefully be there in three weeks and the the flat won't have been swallowed by the jungle.
Financially it doesn't make sense to get a skip when I could get a van but I have yet to talk myself into it. Although if I have to hack down the garden as well there is no way I'll have time for tip runs.
Off to work this afternoon, not sure I have enough energy for 3 kids but I shall caffeinate and motor on.
