Cake looks fab. Congratulations. Happy birthday to your Dad.
I so relate on the self-neglect thing as you know. I am trying not to beat myself up over going over budget on clothes last month - because I replaced my holey boots I'd had years... This year as you know I also replaced worn out trainers and bras and knickers... All of which were hard to do...!! I still haven't managed to put the old trainers or boots in the bin which is ridiculous - but I have worn the new ones so I am committed to keeping those.
Well done for the progress you are making. For me reading the checklist and seeing photos was very confronting...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Southern_chick and SH 😀
Dad is diabetic hence the fruit topping and lack of icing. And the vegetables in the cake hee hee.
Funnily enough SH throwing out clothes was what I was doing last night 🥳 It is surprisingly difficult. The only things that went relatively easy were the things that I don't wear now and don't fit. It was quite satisfying crossing them off the list I had made to go in the box though.
I was more relieved to find words for the issues I suppose than confronted. I always knew I had a problem and it was a relief to get missing pieces of the puzzle.
Gym did not happen today as it turns out I can't join online with the discount. I woke up zonked but happy today so I'll probably take it as easy as dad will allow.
Coming up is clearing some stuff out of big box and hopefully getting it down to small box size. I'm hoping to start some landscaping drawings as well. I bought a clear box for my pencils so I can put it wherever I need it to be.1 -
Glad you had such a positive experience.

I still hate throwing old stuff out. It's difficult to put shoes in the bin. But then I also hate buying shoes so that may be a factor 🤷
Weirdly I have a really hard time throwing out boxes. I always think I'll need them in case something breaks and I'll be taking it back.
I can't remember the last time I took something back.3 -
The latter is another issue. Sending stuff back on time to get refunds.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Today's attempt at eating more veg
4 -
Progress. Still some way to go.
4 -
Today was a No Rules Day. Didn't force myself to get up, didn't restrict what I ate or did and I feel better for it.
I was aiming for 9 cups of vegetables today. I ate approximately 6.. It was surprisingly difficult with just a Tesco shop as the one I was in is not particularly big. Also Teacup decided she was cooking dinner so changed plans somewhat. I might pay a visit to the greengrocer as the selection of veg (that I will eat) is larger. I could easily eat 2 cups of samphire.
I went in and joined the gym yesterday evening and had a preliminary walk around. My intention is to go Monday all being well. I think I will just go swimming for now.
Up in the mountains today with Dad and the dog. New purple heathered landscape to view which is a bit of a relief from endless green. Parked in a small verge and found wimberries (bilberries or fraughan berries) which I gave Dad to eat. One of his old reminiscences was picking them on the Welsh moors so that feels like a goal achieved.
Nope on the landscape drawing DIA. Reason being my friend was at my flat and kindly sent me videos. The garden is horrendously overgrown and I have spent far too many hours trying to find someone to come and cut it down. I don't know why but all the gardening services locally just look dodgy.

The healthy eating sounds a good way forward. Lovely photo.
Well done on the declutter and organising. That looks a huge improvement.
I like the idea of freedom from rules. We often push ourselves far too hard. Glad you got out wit your Dad. Sounds a lovely setting with berries I'm not sure what they are!??
