There have been several occasions in my life where I have thought I would love to just start again from scratch. I've Kon Mari'd stuff two or three times. I've redecorated.
What I've never done is designed my life.
stymied is right, making decisions can be hard.
I'm going to write down what I think I'm going to do and then compare it afterwards with what I did while there.
As I think more upon it, there are things I want to keep. Like a print, some books and so on.1 -
Making a list before you go is wise. You could then give yourself say a 10% allowance on top but say no more... Would something like that work for you? That way you are not sucked into re-examining each thing which you haven't got time for anyway in a 2 day trip...
I found telling myself what I kept from the understairs cupboard had to mostly fit in 4 see through drawers and a basket on top helped a lot... So giving yourself a container size limit can also work... I then got rid of 70-80% of the stuff.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I think if I was living there and trying to get rid of stuff that is what I would do SH.
Basically I'm going to get rid of the 'hoard'. The stuff that has piled up that I'm never going to use, the unsalvageable stuff, the projects I'm not going to do, anything that might be of use to someone...1 -
I have started gathering supplies for the trip. I bought 60 bin bags and 40 garden rubble bags. If that's not enough I may just quietly expire of embarrassment. I also got cleaning supplies. I found two large cardboard boxes in the house so I'll take those as well.
I am going to make a list with the information that I have. I know that the charity shop comes between 9 and 11 so the kitchen stuff has to be ready to go. I can't start clearing the garden at 6am. Things like that.
I have the before and after in mind, just need the middle.1 -

Unexpected expense today. I had to buy new shoes after the hole in one of them went all the way through. Which I discovered while cleaning a shower 🤦♀️
Luckily there are 3 charity shops on the way home and I found a pair that looked brand new for €6. AND the old ones were put in the first bin I encountered. A most straightforward transaction.
Garden tool for bringing to the UK arrived yesterday and was tested. It is a small size hedge and grass trimmer with a telescopic pole. These ones are better for me to use because I can hold them for longer. As opposed to a regular hedge trimmer which are usually too cumbersome.
Bank app is down so can't do any transfers.
Have asked to add the liability option to my booking for my trip, it means an extra 105 euro but brings the security deposit down to 250. Annoying as the camper only cost 149 but couldn't figure out another option.
Coveting an A3 size hardback sketchbook that the girls at my cleaning job have.
It is 20 euro though so maybe not.

The sketchbook sounds nice. Perhaps one for the xmas list.
When do you go and sort your flat?

On the 12th all things going as planned.
In the middle of tackling the cutlery drawer of doom. So far have found four corkscrews. And hoovered out the crumbly dirt and sprayed with vinegar spray. Cue wanting fish and chips all day 🤣🤣🤣
