So sorry to hear about the ex colleague - as PIP says its always disconcerting when we hear of people we know passing at (what I would consider) a young age. Certainly sharpens my mind on my own mortality.
Poang chair definitely sounds a good bargin!!!

It's sad to think someone can work their whole life, get made redundant and then die a year or so later. Making me think about what I want my memories to be.
Sadly the furniture did not come alive overnight Disney style and arrange itself in a suitable formation. I decided not to spend today trying to figure it out and instead went to the beach for a walk. And a ridiculous hot chocolate (kinder Bueno topping)- even though it was warm out I had seen so many photos that I had to get one. Picked up mystery shopping jobs on the way to see the small humans which will hopefully be £18 in the coffers. Possibly not worth having to explain to oldest nephew why I didn't come earlier 🤦♂️
An egg experiment took place this week- turns out the cheap ones make themselves known after being consumed 💨 So I can eat eggs. The ones that are covered in dirt and cost a million pounds.

So sad about your colleague, but a credit to her that people remembered and knew it would mean something to you to know.
Nice work on getting the chair and the mystery shopping.
Sounds like it's time to rescue a few chickens - thought they say they never pay for themselves. They are still on my 'to-do' list as our area seems prone to bird flu so I keep waiting till I think it's really gone this time. (Perhaps I just need to get them anyway: I picked up a coop second hand some years ago).

Somebody around the corner does keep chickens funnily enough. They're in the front garden which is a tad strange. I wouldn't keep them myself as I'm beside a park (foxes) and intend to travel a bit more in future.
I do need to think about putting in the kitchen garden, even though growing season is not really until May here. I might put it off until I've done a few more outside tasks. Like painting and clearing.

Painting and clearing will have a big impact once done. You can draw plans for the garden in the meantime

Mmmm, that looks delicious!
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?1 -
It was better looking than tasting sadly. I would say it was worth the fiver just because the guy put a lot of work into the topping. Blow torch and everything.
Early start today and morning out with the boys. I have no energy to do anything and no energy to care about it. Winning at life. I did handwash my underwear which is another string to my bow. And put cork on the wall which goes really well with the pink. And is an excellent use of the cork underlay I bought reduced six years ago 🤣
Tried to buy a santoku knife on the big river but was foiled by a bug not allowing me to enter my age. I've decided to just do things one at a time instead of getting overwhelmed so my task list is stuff like buy a pot. Not make soup for meals and buy a pot and a knife and a chopping board and all the food storage and turn the fridge on and do everything right immediately.

That's a very constructive way to attack the list. After all, even a marathon has to be run one step at a time and pacing yourself is essential there. You will also enjoy the pot all the more for its not being part of a batch of purchases.
