Oh I know stymied but I'm paralysed with indecision 🤣
The fridge question has opened up (the hellmouth) a can of worms about how exactly I want to live/can manage my life. Yes it goes that deep. Also fridges are bloody expensive nowadays and the only charity shop locally that sells them is lazy. So I'm afraid to buy one from there in case they haven't checked it properly. Not to mention they charge £35 delivery so I'd be no better off.
It really has been eye opening how little functioning I have at the moment. Even the addition of a bento box to my dishwashing routine has proven too much, the poor thing was left in water for about a week.
I do have today off as the Other House has had a lurgy this week. That I very much wanted to avoid as my general mouth area is feeling the effects of acid reflux.
Dealing with my sister this morning has put me in a foul mood though. Cue emotional hangover

I hope your mood improves…
Fridges are expensive. My charity shop has a £40 delivery charge for a delivery of under 2 miles. A bit ridiculous

Years ago I stayed at a house where there wasn't a fridge. It was August, so to make the milk stay drinkable as long as possible, it was kept in a bucket of water with a cloth draped over. The cloth drew up water which cooled the bottle a bit as it evaporated. The whole thing went into an 'outdoor fridge': a doorless cupboard set into a retaining wall in the shade (the house was on a hillside so this was semi-underground). I'm not expecting you to go digging out an outdoor fridge but the container of cold water kept out of daylight and with a cloth over the items and ends in the water… that might help?

I use milk powder now Cherry. Much easier and I don't really use milk except for tea.
Although seeing as I still have no floor I could make an underfloor fridge which would be suitably cold 🤣
The delivery charge has stopped me buying many a thing DIA. I don't want a £35 table to be a £70 table!

Stick 'fridges' into one of the cashback sites and see what deals are knocking around?

Strangely enough encountered a fridge of exactly the right size in a charity shop while I was waiting for my laundry to finish. I didn't buy it because I looked it up and it had poor reviews. But at least now I know reasonable dimensions I can live with.
Wanted to go to the DIY shop. Decided to make a plan to go instead of just battling through it. Bought a bus ticket instead of tapping. Went to the loo and Starbucks for food on arrival. Then went to the DIY shop and it worked. I was happy to be there instead of stressed. Ok so on the bus I may have snapped and given out to a child who kept moving about and (shudder) touching me. Which I'm not proud of.
Happily wandered about, had a productive conversation with a random employee who suggested I look up jobs there so that was handy. Got my paint and polyfilla and then went off to do a food shop. All in all a good if expensive day

There might be something to be said for pursuing the idea of working in the DIY place: for a start you can't possibly have to do as many steps as you do at present. There's also the possibility of employee discounts and maybe blagging advice.

Ah this is where we’re so lucky with our buses - driver doesn’t move off if people aren’t seated…..So annoying for you, especially when you’d had such a good day.

Our buses would fling you to the moon and back.
They do have a 20% discount for employees apparently Cherry. Given my love for F and B paint that would be a significant saving 🤣
Another night of broken sleep so no job applications today, lord only knows how many typos that would result in. Will take out my frustration on the random bits of wood that need to be removed before I can paint.
So sick of how I'm feeling at work. Ragey and tired and full of adrenalin. Its so hard to try and go at top speed all the time. I did have some success on changing how I feel about it in the moment which I hope to build on.
More frustration coming from the interactions with the Other House. I am trying to be happy with how I approached it- I offered options and they were all rejected. It's just adding to my frustration that it will be bitched about and twisted to be my fault at some point. But that is not my responsibility. Must keep reminding myself of that.

That sounds a very tough day! Well done on keeping going through it and letting your brain be on your side.
Bandq job sounds great, definitely apply (after a good night's sleep).
If people are going to be bitchy and twist things then at some point they're going to learn that behaving like that has consequences, like no offers of help 🙂
