  • Waiting for the dentist. Joy. Have been very nice to myself and got breakfast in Pret. Between the cost of public transport and bribing myself the dentist has already cost £20 🤦‍♂️
Usual behaviour overcome- I was very early for my appointment but went in nonetheless. Mostly because it is blooming cold outside.
Pondering my next moves financially now that I am thinking about dental work. I do find it hard to prioritise things like the dentist. Although less so now that I end up with twinges every few weeks.

My future self will have too much work to do 🤣 Blooming consultation cost £114 🤯
Current me is just focusing on feeling grateful that I have the money to pay for it.
I have also come down with a cold this afternoon so I am really enjoying life right now. I do have quite a lot of theory of a dead man in my playlist right now 🤣

Well done for getting to the dentist - ouch to the cost, though. However, it's worth looking after your teeth - I read it can affect your heart health as well as your present day comfort.

This is not the weather to have a cold. I hope it's soon gone.

    Well done with the dentist.

    Time- disappearing rapidly
    Money spent- all of it.

Since moving back to the flat I have been haemorrhaging money at an alarming rate. It makes sense as I started life back in the flat with nothing but a kettle and a borrowed microwave. Next month will bring more expense as the electrical work is hopefully completed. Meaning I can finally buy some sort of refrigeration. I do have birthday/Christmas vouchers to contribute to this cost.
In terms of priorities I think making the flat comfortable enough to live in without spending all my money on food tops the list. I don't even have a sharp knife 🤦‍♂️ I just cut a pepper with one of those wooden disposable knives.
On the bright side it has been a lesson in what is actually needed and taking my time in buying things. All of which is helping increase my practical skills.

Do any local charity shops sell cutlery? You may be able to get by for a while with a plate, bowl, cup, measuring jug and a set of one item each of basic cutlery. It takes a bit of juggling but you can measure, cut and eat with those. Of course that doesn't solve things like bedding, saucepans, chairs, but it's remarkable how little you really, really need to get cooking.

I would struggle with the wooden knife! It's not impossible but it's tricky.

Most charity shops have a box with cutlery. My nicest pieces have been from those boxes. Definitely a better option than a wooden knife. As @Cherryfudge says you will defo find plates and other bits and pieces there and you can regift them when you get things you prefer. Good news that refrigeration is not far off.

I miss Pret. We don't have one here...
