Having lights is great progress! And of course if you choose not to illuminate the questionable areas, it will save money, which is a win/win so long as you don't trip on anything.
My vote for veg would probably be carrot as you don't need to cook it and if necessary you can dunk it in things.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

ADVENT
Vegetable - Brussels sprouts and romanesco cauliflower cos it was yellow stickered 😀
Flat- bought a washing up bowl. Probably the most useful purchase yet.
Somebody Cares - bought magnesium tablets. My extremely sore muscles will thank me.2 -
ADVENT
6th December
Vegetable - I'm counting the cucumber that was in my Sainsbugs salmon and rice bowl. It's a questionable win I'm not going to lie.
Flat- watched a video on how to take measurements. Think I'm going to create a model before I do anything else and my flat was built in the thirties out of leftovers and socialist dreams. Socialists are good for giving humans enough space to decently live in but tend to forget things like measuring tapes.
Somebody cares - bath with epsom salts. My muscles are now aware that they are there and I've overused them.
7th December
Vegetable- sugar snap peas. Again mildly questionable as it came in a mixed mini pack but vegetables were had.
Flat- set up a table as the 'kitchen' area is highly overcrowded.
Somebody Cares - asked for a lift to hospital appointment tomorrow. I'm still in holiday mode and can't make any more decisions so took the easier option and asked friend for a lift.

Love this. We live in a 30s property too (built I assume by capitalists because the same family owns half the town, though DD worked for them for a while and they were a good employer). Anyway, I love the higher ceilings and bigger windows you tend to get with 1930s properties. Whoever planned ours though, really needed to have lived in it for a few years - there is more hall than kitchen and the placement of the stairs steals unnecessarily from living space.WelshmansDaughter said:my flat was built in the thirties out of leftovers and socialist dreams. I think you should include the cucumber and sugar snaps as veg because what are they, if not vegetables and you shouldn't give them a complex about their identities.
That ridiculous thing is happening where a food is mentioned and I want to eat some. Why would I want cucumber at one in the morning in December? Why?I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

ADVENT
Vegetable- red cabbage. And it counts even though it was one of those Christmas side dishes soaked in wine. All vegetables would come with the option to be soaked in wine.
Flat- got my friend to get me a tester pot of Inchyra Blue. May even get out of my bed to try it out.
Somebody Cares- went to my MRI appointment. It was surprisingly relaxing. I suppose a postie at Christmas will take any opportunity for a lie down 🤣
Possibly I should start doing a reverse advent where I log all the things I shouldn't have done. Chief of which was agree to start at 7.30 tomorrow. Stupid people pleasing work ethic.
I also bought more food covered in cheese.
Have just checked and there are 12 working days until Christmas. That seems doable.
Need to try and stay awake longer because I keep waking up around 23.30 thinking it's morning.
If my brain power returns I shall make a snapshot of the time left for Christmas and see what I need to get done.

ADVENT
Vegetable - broccoli. Ate at lunch and dinner. Admittedly the latter is covered in cheese. And accompanied by Bolognese from a can. These are interesting times.
Flat- currently I am enjoying the fact that I am inside it and not outside in the rain as I have been all day.
I do intend to review the quote from the electrician and paint a tester somewhere.
Somebody cares - sent my sister a deliveroo gift card cos she's having a bad day.
If I'm honest I don't think starting work early had any benefit. I pretty much lost the will to live by the afternoon. It was like being in ground hog day.3 -
I feel like if you want a cucumber at 1am Cherry it means you're thirsty? That's what happens to me anyway, I get a representation of something rather than the feeling itself2
-
I had never thought of that, but you could be on to something. I think it's the desire for cool and fresh when I feel other than cool and fresh myself. There's a definite feel to summery foods that's not what we look for in winter foods.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

If everyone could just stop shopping now that would be great mmkay? Shocked myself silly looking at my work dashboard and seeing that I am regularly delivering over 140 parcels a day including one day of 200!?!?!
ADVENT
Vegetable - carrot. Although this is stretching the boundaries a tad as I had a handful of veg with breakfast.
Flat- accepted the quote from the electrician. Also saw an induction hob in middle aisle so will buy that.
Somebody Cares - currently sitting waiting for the carol service to start. I haven't been to this one since before the pandemic. I always went with dad to the carol service at home and it's a tradition I'd like to keep up. Not much is saying Christmas right now- being Santa ain't easy 🤣🤣🤣
Decided against buying decorations this year, although if I see something small I might get it. Plan is currently to buy everything when it's marked down after Christmas and then have a storage box for Christmas decorations.

*salutes your santa work*
Doesn't matter when you get your f&v as long as its got!
Great news on accepting the electrician quote 🥂
Carol service sounds just the job for being Christmassy, good on you for making the effort to go
Good idea to nab some bargains for your future decorations stock. Is there anything you can do this year to make home feel a tad festive? Maybe a little poinsettia or red kalenchoe- they're often quite bargainous in supermarkets2
