Quite a long time since I last posted. Time does seem to have blurred in a haze of work, children and of course, the sly hand of autism reaching out of the murk to slap me round the head.
Currently in burnout and even this is stretching me so I shall leave it there for now and go back to watching the birds and bees*

Nice to read a post from you. Watching flying animals is calming.

Good to hear from you. Glad work is still providing funds. How are your flat revamp plans coming on?
One of my favourite gazing activities is watching the magpies hop along the guttering and have a drink and check out if there's anything interesting, so my mind is usually in the guttering when it comes to the birds!

    Update part 2.
The last two weeks have been a haze of vomit and fatigue. Small Boy and Little Bulldog both caught some kind of bug at nursery which they kindly shared. All over me. Worry and fatigue tipped me over into a meltdown (or possibly I caught the bug) and I ended up calling in sick.
Back on my feet now but thoroughly disillusioned- work have enacted their attendance policy and delayed making me permanent.
I can hear PiP’s battle cry already 😂
Im tempted to appeal it just because it is such a w**ker thing to do but honestly I am not sure if it is worth the effort. This job is maybe not right for me long term and my energies need to be marshalled appropriately.

I'm sorry you've been poorly - how work expect someone with a sickness bug to work through, I've no idea. As you'll know, some jobs actually require 48 hours off after vomiting. After all, your customers don't want to catch it! And neither do your colleagues.

I hope this week is better. Just about has to be, hasn't it?

Battle cry ahoy, just let me know which one you need! 😂
Appeal it with a calm attitude, it doesn't need to stress you, you're an employee querying something that is just an automatic process in a workplace.
It is a w*nker thing to do but workplaces do have w*nker times, that's why we have to be paid to be there. Don't sack off the job that you're doing well at and that is giving you sweet money. If the worst outcome is having to wait a bit longer to be permanent then so be it, at least you asked if things could be taken into consideration.
It is hard balancing family and work but maybe have it in mind to gently mention to sis that you cannot be doing child duties if they're ill as that means you're risking paying your bills
