    Thanks all.
No bath here sadly- I'd have to clean it first and no energy for any more cleaning lol.

According to my fitbit I have done 33,585 steps today.

First full day out with the training guy went ok. I did end up going without food except for the mint chocolate reindeer I had in what is now my snack pocket. I am enamoured of cargo pants. I got them as part of my cleaning uniform and am enjoying the many pockets.
The food situation will need to be remedied. I'm thinking things I can just pop in my mouth and keep walking lol.
Off tomorrow to watch LB so he may outrun me.

ETA: tomorrow is payday woohoo. Have been relying on the scratch card bank account again. I had £4 today which got me a pain aux raisins and a back of mint reindeer. Not the most nutritious choice but much enjoyment was had. It also got me a £4.50 off £30 spend in Sainsbugs. I am so needing a break from the general air of don't care from Mr A.

  • Definitely plan when and what to eat, you can't be a hangry postie!
    I ❤️ your snack pocket

That's a serious amount of steps! Very serious. I hope you can move tomorrow.

Snacks: it will depend on what you like of course, but I'd include the sort of drinks that have calories in (juice or yogurt drinks are both a bit healthier than pop), also a bottle of water or a flask of something hot. I'd suggest adding cereal bars to the cargo pants. I have pocket envy now.

    Enjoy tomorrow.

  • The tiny human decided that today was the perfect time to frighten the crap out of me. He howled like a banshee for no apparent reason this morning. A 2.5 hour nap put him right again but I have yet to calm down entirely.
I’ll be going to work tomorrow for a rest 😂
They have also paid me for my first week which was a surprise. However it is for 40 hours so I will have to pay back 10 hours.
Gearing up now for a week of overtime and will need some serious thought put in to meals

Eek, kids love to scare us. I hope you get a 2.5 hour nap too!

How are you doing with the meal planning? I seem to have fallen off the wagon with it here. Porridge features often as it's cheap and easy!

  • Home from work and sitting with a fireplace video on. Lacks the warmth obv but the soothing effect is still a go.

Have no clue what I’m going to eat in the slightest. I know I have ham and cheese in the fridge and some fruit. This will potentially do for tomorrow. Next week 🤷 If I’m honest I’m just thinking cook a pizza and bring it with me. At least I know thats 700cal or thereabouts.
Not really an everyday solution lol. I need to sit down and make the next few days make sense somehow.
Also feeling a tad guilty as I lost my nephews shoe so may buy him a new pair. Not at all a way of making sure he gets a pair I can actually put on
  • All reasonable solutions to immediate needs.
Bananananas are good for calories while being healthy. I'm quite excited by the prospect of your potential packed lunches 😁

Perhaps the shoe will turn up? Mind you, I still have an odd wellie that fitted my daughter when she was at primary school, and the other still hasn't turned up. At this rate it will get turned into a planter full of spring bulbs, which at least is ornamental (then the other will come to light).

I second PiP's mention of bananas. Also Cornish Pasties, the original portable meal. And a latte / milkshake / smoothie for elevenses so you don't have to carry it too long but it will help when you need it.

  • Today's eating-
Toast with 2 eggs, mini yoghurt
    Squeezy pouch yoghurt
    Second squeezy pouch yoghurt
    Donut
    Ham and cheese sandwich
    Ham and cheese sandwich
    RM Cottage pie, broccoli
    3 mint reindeers.

I did have a bit of a moment where I didn't want to spend too much on food because then the overtime wouldn't be worth it. I had to remind myself that the two aren't actually related. Going forward I do not want to be eating that much bread. The squeezy yoghurt pouches were nice but not very filling, I couldn't find any that weren't low/no fat. The other guy does the same thing I want to do which is front load your calories so you're not ratcheting at the end of the day and stuffing your face with pizza. He had chilli con carne for breakfast this morning apparently.
I'm thinking steak at least once for breakfast. But definitely real food/meals. The other thing I was thinking is lettuce pizza rolls.

Things I am happy I spent money on today- tea when I got off the bus to go from one job to the other. £1.30
A six pack of earplugs- £6.11. My current ones are more black than green and have wanted to get some for so long!

Resigned I spent money on- Prime delivery, 8.99. I figured it would ocme in handy for xmas and then I'd cancel.
