  • HI Emma,

Happy new year to you. I'm on a diet too - quite like the 5:2.

Spain is a great place to visit but the food is a bit too rich for my liking. Glad to hear you are still pushing through with the debt.

Hope your feeling better soon x

Good work with the weight loss Emma. You seem to be the kind of person who achieves something once you put your mind to it. I’m 14st and 6 foot 1 so have a bit of work to do myself but I can’t quite motivate myself to cut out the junk from my diet at the moment, or do all the steps that I should.

    Long May your positivity continue

The problem is not YOU Emma. How your Mum and sister choose to act and react is their one choice. They sound incredibly childish and self centred, or maybe they’re just bullies.
There’s no harm in having a day off of your health kick to binge eat and rest a bit.

I’d take a break tbh from them, they both sound toxic ! Regardless of any history with your BIL you helped someone when they needed it.

It WILL all get better Emma. It’s a depressing time of year. Let your sister carry on acting like a child if she wants to.

Oh Emma, I'm so sorry - you're having such an awful time lately.

I really do think you should distance yourself from your family - they are toxic and in my opinion, they're behavior is nothing short of coercive control.

Sometimes, the best relationship to have with family is no relationship.  You are much happier when you are not in contact with them and your mental health is better. You are a lovely person, and you need to look after YOU. Your family should only have your best interests at heart and should be your biggest cheerleader - from what you have written, all they want to do is belittle and upset you. That is not a family - that is abuse.

Take care Emma - I'm crossing my fingers that you have a much happier February x
  • I agree sometimes it’s better to go no contact. I’ve had the “I love you but I don’t like you” thrown at me and other lovely comments. It’s better to cut them off than to allow them to live rent free in your head.
Sorry to hear also about your friend, sending you lots of love xx
