@[Deleted User] your OH's family relationships all sound co- dependent, toxic, and frankly b*gg*red.  There are issues there going back years, quite possibly generations.  Not wanting to be a bossy- boots but it sounds as if you rightly have had enough.  What do you need to do to disengage? Your son sounds like he's indulging in teenage behaviour.   He'll wake up, possibly sooner than currently seems possible.   Cheering you on love Humdinger xx

Sorry you are feeling low in body and spirit.
Your divorce coming through, even if it the right thing, is a sadness too.
Look after yourself as even our loved ones are prone to take advantage if we let them.

Please don’t think that you failed at it Emma. It didn’t work out for many reasons. YOU and only you know how hard you worked at it and how difficult he was. You’re free from him now.
This is just a bit of a low point in time but things will get better and you will have happier days. Your continuing hard work  WILL pay off
Easier said than done I know but try not to be too hard on yourself. You have achieved a huge amount and come an awful long way. It’s far better being out of an unhappy relationship than being in one.

And therein lies the difference between you and the clown who posted that your divorce was a brilliant day Emma. You went to the trouble of doing something for the underDOG (no pun intended) whilst your former partner no doubt remained totally self obsessed in his “happy” place. 

Keep being true to yourself and your values. Hopefully something bigger is watching out for you.
