@[Deleted User] I think it depends on whether you see this as a watershed moment. Excuse me being blunt, but do you want to stay in this relationship? From the outside (and i understand that there's probably a lot I don't see) it looks toxic. Remind me, what's your current financial situation? Could you move or does the family home belong to you? Your partner should be backing you up...it doesn't look like he is. You are so much stronger than this and deserve better. Love Humdinger xx0

I would just enjoy your holiday with your children and not get caught up with your OH and his dysfunctional family. A controlling and overbearing mum and a rude undisciplined daughter would be enough to make me steer clear of him.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. You have already had one bad partner I seem to recall so you don’t need another. I would stay independent and finish with him. Good for you @[Deleted User]! Not wanting to be unnecessarily dramatic but could there be elements of coercive control in those attitudes? Love Humdinger xx0

Talk it over with your daughter and see what she thinks? Once I've lost my temper with someone it usually stays lost but my 18 year old son is very mature and is also good at being the voice of reason. £250 is a lot of money to be miserable when you could go back and be miserable for free though. If you decide to carry on seeing him stop inviting his daughter to family stuff. She's nasty and it looks like she's learned it from her grandparents.1

Poor you! Head phones will be your best friend for the next couple of days. I wouldn’t rise to any comments or engage in conversation. Grey rock them and just smile as you raise a glass and say “I can’t hear you” before closing your eyes or going back to reading - book, phone, whatever. Works a treat, including on the plane home. Good luck x1

Well just enjoy the sunshine and the rest. It does sound like a scenario out of shameless with out of control DDs, overbearing mums and everyone shouting at each other. You could do that at home for free 🙄I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Good to hear from you again Emma. Well it is and it isn’t because of course you’re having some tough challenges again. Sounds to me like you’re handling the latest challenges very well.
Your OH and his family in particular do not sound like they are good for you. I’m another for saying get rid. You deserve to be treated far better than the way they have treated you.
