Well done for staying away from Oh Mum. Only have the meeting if YOU want to have it. You’ve been mistreated for your kindness too many times.
Re the weight gain, weren’t you well into Parkrun a while back. Also dog walking. Both of those are fairly easy and fun ways of getting back into shape. I myself am now over 13 and a half stone although I am 6 foot 1. Some of my clothes have also become a bit tight.Comfort eating is an easy habit to fall into. I have a bit of habit changing to do myself!

Hello. When you say your DD got a Grade 4 in Maths do you mean that was her only Grade 4 or better? If she got others I can't see why she couldn't stay on as a Grade 4 is the same as a former lower Grade C pass.
Just wondering about your work hours. Are you not on a teaching contract for a certain amount of time per week? Apologies if I am missing something. Many thanks.

Emma, if this was a friend telling you how her/his children were treating them what would you say to them?  I've said it before, tough love.  Start putting boundaries down and keeping them, difficult but you can do it.  Stop letting everybody treat you like this, you're worth so much more.  It seems to me (and I could be wrong) that most of your family have a toxic impact on you.  Sorry if this comes across as harsh but frankly I'm appalled by some of the things I read.

Thank you for your responses. I agree with the others that you need to set boundaries for DD. After all you are providing for her more than anyone else. She is coming across a stroppy and spoilt.  I would be tempted to tell the family straight how you feel and if that means a cooling of relations so be it. 

I am surprised that the school did not allow daughter to stay in even with a Grade 4 and then retake during the course of Year 12 . We did this with quite a few 6th formers including those who didn’t even get a grade 4. In most cases it worked well. Well it is that school’s their financial loss as 6th form students are worthwhile commodities! Does your daughter have a Saturday or weekend job? If not maybe she needs to start looking.
