  • Hi hope you don't mind me popping in. Just wanted to say to keep doing you and set boundaries a little at a time and as you can manage. They won't like it as they walked all over you for so long

My DD must be same age as yours and she started 6th form last week. I won't say what I think of your daughter's attitude as you already know this, I spoke to my daughter after she finished exam stress about how if she wants to be treated like an adult in some ways then she needs to look at it from our perspective too in regards to what is fair etc. Might be a good time with college starting to set some ground rules etc as part of the change in dynamic

For your son I'm assuming in second year of university now.... is his loans etc based on your income or his dad's? He is an adult so unless actually part of your household it's time he realised this now

On the weight loss journey I'll be joining you as the scales say I'm highest ibe ever seen but my trousers aren't any tighter so who knows what happening there lol make some small changes in right direction and see how you go and I'll join you

@[Deleted User] - I would just say that due to family commitments you are now unable to continue the Sunday sessions.  It's true to the extent that you will be losing your Saturdays so need another day instead.

Sorry but why are you ferrying your daughter around on the only day you have to yourself?  Has she not heard of buses, trams, trains or lifts from fellow players? If she can't afford them then she shouldn't be joining anything that involves them.

    This !

Your DD is old enough to sort this out herself.

I’m sorry but your comments are rather harsh. OPs daughter is only 16 so technically a child. I think it’s wonderful that OP wants to give time to her daughter and encourage her in her sporting activities! Even now I willingly transport other family members and friends about whatever they’re ages. It’s called loving and caring. I know this is MSE but it’s not all about the money.

However, it is concerning that you work 7 days a week. You do need to block in some time off for recharge  and family time.
    Best wishes.

I get that and I too drive my DS all over the place and will do for years BUT my son also treats me with respect and is grateful for it.  Emma’s DS/DD don’t.

You need to book some time in your calendar for you, if you break then everything falls down.

    So you’re only £233 x 12  down but gaining 52 x 12 hours - seems a bargain to me ! £4.48 an hour …..

I have to say that you are a much nicer person than me.  If my DS had ever behaved towards me the way either of your 2 have behaved towards you I would have moved into a one bed flat.  Thankfully my ex removed himself from contact when he left, a considerable bonus even if a severe financial hit.  It is my serious opinion that some exs should not be allowed any contact as they are completely toxic & cannot help themselves from using their children as weapons.  I could even understand somewhat if they had been the ones to be divorced rather than the instigators.

Your hard work ethic will see you succeed Emma. Anxiety can of course be crippling, especially in the dead of night, but hopefully having done a few sums you can see that cutting your crazy hours slightly does makes sense.
