They've suggested to appeal via the www.theIAS.org

    We know.

And the NEWBIES thread post #3 explains why not to.  I did say this already:

You need to read the other parts of the NEWBIES thread; replies 3 and 4 being relevant to you.

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread describes exactly how to deal with the debt collectors letters after that.  Come back if they try a court claim of course, because you can't ignore that.  Keep ALL letters and if you move house you MUST tell them.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hey All,

    Just an update.

I did appeal via Parallel parking appeal site and unsurprisingly it was rejected. I realised that I selected ‘I was the driver’ so not sure if this will be a problem for me?

I spoke to my local MP who then sent a letter to the Parallel asking to rescind the PCN given I actually bought a ticket. Again, a response was sent advising the ticket had no number plate thus no ticket was purchased. My MP has now advised to get further advise from the citizens bureau.

I have collated all the letters and rejections from Parallel and will now wait for the letters to come through. I’ll post another update when this comes through but I will need some support to prepare my defence.

    thanks!

Not your MP's finest hour!  The CAB know very little about how this all works and will advise you along the lines produced by the British Parking Association!

PPC appeal websites are setup to default to The Driver ... you need to be absolutely sure that this is correctly set before you hit Submit, but even then it's not unknown for the form to change it back anyway.

The PPC cannot take inference from this anomaly in any future court claim, especially if the content of your appeal did not allude in any way to being the driver.

I’m terms of next immediate steps, should I draft one final email based on the template advising that the PCN is not valid?

What are you hoping for?  If it's a cancellation then you'll have wasted a valuable part of your life!

    Hi All,

So I've just received the Gladstones threat letter (LBC) come through asking for £170? (£70 charge applied which is based on Parallel Parking's time to recover unpaid charges. I've read the newbies guide and I should now do the following:

    1. Go back to my local MP and present the letter which has an 'unlawful' claim of an additional £70
    2. Raise a 'SAR' to Parallel's email address quoting:
    - ALL photos taken
    - all letters/emails sent and received, including any appeal correspondence earlier
    - if the car park was Pay and Display, ALWAYS ask for a PDT machine record from that day, of payments made (VRNs can be       partially redacted but insist on getting this; follow it up if they refuse).
    - all data held, all evidence they will rely on, and a full copy of the PCN, NTK
    - and a list of all PCNs outstanding against me and/or this VRN, and remind them that any claim must be for all PCNs, not several separate claims.

    3. Email Gladstones (Using the Reference number provided in the letter) with the following content:
    (a) I am seeking debt advice but I deny any debt and the case must be put 'on hold' for not less than 30 days under the PAP for debt claims 2017.
    (b) I have sent your client a SAR

Is there anything I've missed from the above?

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi All,

    I need some advise please:

My SAR request came back from Parallel Parking and they've advised that they can't provide the "Due to Data Protection I am unable to provide you with the machine data as this contains other customers vehicle registration numbers" . Now it should be noted that my ticket does not have the Reg No, but I have the actual identifier printed on the back. How can I respond to this?

The second element is they did not provide the pictures of my car (even though they sent this via the written PCN).

I look forward to your support.

    Thanks,

Remind me - what was the alleged contravention here? Failure to pay? Failure to display?

Was the VRM required to be entered on the PDT machine at the car park?

They could provide a "near-miss" with some of the VRM redacted.  Are they trying to say that when we enter a car park, we must not look at the VRMs of other cars that are parked in there as it violates GDPR?
