Hi All,
So just an update that they have provided the redacted log and interestingly I did enter some of the plate details (they have scraped off some of the letters given they don't want to reveal the whole reg) along with the exact date / time and value of the amount paid.
The question I had is on the redacted log, it shows the UID which in two parts matches the one on my ticket where the number 1 denotes the identification data on my own ticket, the X denotes an ID which seems it could be either the machine reference and possibly the year, but it doesn't match the date of the actual ticket):
My Ticket (dummy data): 0111100 (The zeros here represent values that are not on the UID from the redacted log)
Machine Redacted Log (dummy data): 1XXXXXX111
The question I have is what could the 'X' represent in the data from the redacted log? It seems that the UID on my ticket is split into two parts but with some other numbers in between.
Thanks!0 -
We can't guess without seeing the actual numbers.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The fact that the data is redacted when sending to you means there's no reason why you can't show it here.Jenni x1

Ok, so here is the amended version of my ticket where bold matches the portion of my reference to the log. Date / Time and amount paid also match exactly (£2 paid for 1 hour):
My Ticket: 0894663
Machine Log Ref: 822322946
My question is what do the numbers in italic represent? I'm thinking machine ID? Not sure it's the date, aside from 22, the rest of it has no correlation to the actual date of the incident. I've also cross referenced it to other tickets on the day. There seems to be 3 machines which links to the 5 digits in the middle.

Do you mean the 5 digits change depending on which machine was used? Or is 22322 constant?
Could 22.32 be the time (pm)?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

All of this is nonsense isn't it?
1. The o/p has retained the ticket which means the ppc will have to admit that payment was made.
2. If the partial registration appears in the log, then they'll have to admit that the terms were substantially complied with (normalky the reg/partial reg is printed on the face of the ticket too)
3. Only the driver can give decent evidence in the above points, so the o/p may as well admit being the driver.
I'd be telling C (if they threaten to commence proceedings) that the combined effect of 1-3 above is that C is in the unedifying position of seeking significant costs in a case where there is no loss, pecuniary or commercial (unlike Beavis) where a substantial element of the claim is added 'debt collection' which is entirely unnecessary and possibly impermissible in any event. The whole thing is disproportionate and a poor use of court resources.

22322
22310
22339
It may be the batch process time potentially? Before I go back to Parallel, I want to have a good level of confidence on what these middle digits could denote before asking to provide the full reg number and any other data points provided.
