Good news Thrifty
Yesterday was a NSD bringing the total to 2
Today is payday so some off the credit card and some in the holiday fund ( it’s paid for but I’ll need dollars ) I also need birthday cards, but they won’t cost much I don’t do the expensive ones.
SW wasn’t as bad as expected and I also still have another week already paid for left so that was good.
Today I’m grateful for not having as much weight to re lose as I’d expected, for nice coffee and for the weather improving, sun just makes the world feel better.
Anyway I better get on
Have a good day Turtles

Changed my plans slightly and walked to the Polling Station then on to L*dl to get a small shop. Lots of gaps on the shelves and the freezers were almost empty. Didn't have the car so no time to go elsewhere.
OH turned up unexpectedly with a copy of his shift rota and holidays which was appreciated but ! suggested it might be a good idea just to ring my phone long enough for it to register if he is passing as I'm not always at home all day even though I WFH and I could then ring his if I'm out.
Had a catch up with my Manager, arranging to go in to the office for a couple of days next week. Quite a distance from me so spoke to my sister as I normally stay with her, she lives much nearer so all ok.
Today is another spend day as just been to T*sco to try and get what couldn't get yesterday!. Normally do both shops on the same trip to save on fuel,
Grateful for being able to pay all my bills at the moment after all the April price increases, for being able to afford food and for no heating bill since March.

Well done, Thrifty
Money - NSD No 5. All going according to plan
Home - Plodding along. Things all looking Ok and decluttering coming along slowly
Me - Had a nap yesterday afternoon. It's ages since I did that but I was feeling quite tired. Felt much better afterwards. Started a new book (actually I'm half way through it already). It's set in a part of Paris I know quite well so I can picture the location. Really enjoying it.
Election results here will start coming in later today so I'm off to get started on the chores so I can sit down with a coffee and watch themHave adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -

H Health needs to be a priority (Mental, Physical. Spiritual ). 5 Minute mental health check - How am I feeling?, Am I hydrated enough?, Have I had good enough sleep?, Have I eaten regularly and healthily?, Have my muscles been stretched?, Have I been nice to myself and others? (repeat daily/ weekly/ monthly depending on your response). Short cut - Moisturise - if you use body lotion once a week you'll notice any slight injuries (cuts and bruises) or things that need attention (can include breast exam if you want).
These are the building blocks of health and link with several other parts of the challenge. Moisturising - I need to do this as a preventative measure. I have eczema and dermatitis so it's important not to give them a toehold. I have a dry patch on my elbow and no idea how it got there - sometimes I find patches that relate to worries/ issues that I'm supressing (usually because I'm juggling too many so put some on 'hold'). Or I could have fallen against a wall and grazed it (reached the age where injuries take so long to heal that I don't remember the incident that caused them).
As we come out of winter and start to remove layers of clothing, I find my arms from elbow to shoulder are in need of some tlc, as do other bits that have barely seen the light of day for months. The CPAP mask can be damaged by contact with creams and lip salve so I can't slather stuff on before bed. ATM I'm trying to include it in my 'as soon as I'm awake' routine. My morning routine had 19 steps last time I checked and more have been added (not including occasional ones like bite cream, plasters - pesky pyracantha and blackberry thorns) so I'm trying to split them into first thing (anytime I wake up from 6 am) and getting ready for the day (washing, dressing etc).
Moisturising (I'm currently using a range of use ups - hand cream from the cs/ stuff mum was gifted that won't upset my skin) can also be (self) soothing, self care, stretching for those of us who find parts of their body difficult to reach. A good all round health workout.
Friday Check In
What can I celebrate this week?
What did I learn?
What brought me joy?
How am I feeling?
How can I take great care of me this weekend?
What are my intentions for next week?
To reduce stress I do yoga. Just kidding - I watch 5 hours of Netflicks in my yoga pants. (I don't have any yoga pants)
Happy Friday Here's to all of us who made it through another week of faking adulthood (Nanea Hoffman).

Friday check in…what can I celebrate this week? A short working week with having the bank holiday and today off…and surviving the 3 days working in between. Also 4 NSD’s. What did I learn? I can survive a week on a designated amount of pocket money, not only did I not dip into any other money, I underspent by £10! What brought me joy? I struggle with joy somehow. I tick along, but find it hard to pinpoint joy..does anyone else have that? I need to force joy into my life 😬 How am I feeling? A bit nothingy…let’s loop back to forcing some joy! Who knew that these would be hard questions for me! The weekend will be mostly solitary as MrWW is on nights shifts, meaning he’s mostly not here or sleeping. My lovely dog will be by my side and the cats will do their own thing 😁 I have a whole pile of to do’s for work next week.Netflix is also my yoga replacement 🤣

Got home about 6.15pm so just having tea then off to bed.

Saturday 7th May 2022
Good morning beautiful souls. Happy Saturday. Be kind to yourself today.
Saturday mornings are full of possibility. Maybe I'm getting ready to have an adventure or a day of productivity. Or maybe I'm in my pjs, drinking coffee whilst I stalk my internet friends. Who knows. (Nanea Hoffman).
Improve This is my life in recent years. I can't do much, but I can keep nibbling away at all those never ending tasks, doing my best keep the chaos under control. Some tactics:
* before you leave a room, do 3 things to make it a bit better - put something away in a drawer, pick up rubbish that missed the bin, add something that belongs in another room to your bag.
* take something with you every time you go up or down stairs (in my case I now have to ration my trips up and down so have to write lists and decide which are essential to take with me - if I need to go out I need my handbag, if I'm waiting for a phone call or message I need the phone in my bag).
* My latest tactic is to drop/throw things out of the window (it's the escape window so it opens wide). It works very well for tied up bags of rubbish/ recycling - when I get downstairs I can take them down the path to the bins, cutting out carrying them to the top of the stairs, putting them down whilst I get myself onto the stairs (okay after that first scary step), carry them down (or go down backwards and lift them down each step if they're heavy or I have other bags) and then carry them across the kitchen.
* Currently I'm working on the possibilities or using a washing line to lower more things out of the window. There's a SM trolley below (use it to put wet washing on and take one thing at a time to hang up or anything else that needs to be at waist height for sorting/ transporting).
* Lots of things can be thrown/ kicked or rolled downstairs (useful when you have a back injury, broken or sprained ankle or just feeling too wobbly) - bedding, rubbish, recycling (bags tied enough to prevent them spilling everywhere when they reach the bottom. Rucksacks leave your hands free, small waste paper baskets can hold a lot of dirty pots (I feel safer holding it clasped to me rather than dangling in a bag which could knock my leg out from under me).
* For times when I'm really ill, struggling to get between the bedroom and bathroom and terrified of the stairs. I keep wipes in the bathroom to do the sink (plus all the bits I can reach sitting down) and squirt stuff in the toilet more often - keeps it from getting any worse until I am more able.
If you're incapacitated (permanently or temporarily) or feeling stuck just doing little bits will help. There's usually a way of doing most things but it can take (much) more time. Be prepared to compromise on perfection -if you can do 90% of the job you'll soon catch up, if you can only do 10% it's better than nothing. Just make a start (maintenance tips for holding onto what you've gained are later in the challenge steps) and keep going back to gaze in wonder at your beautiful tidy drawer/ pill tin/ few inches of sewing/ knitting. Concentrate on what you can do and what you have achieved, not the mountain of 'to dos' remaining.
