I have taken it in it but not sure now if it’s a good deal. There is £150 per fuel exit fee.1 -

There are very few fixed deals available to new customers on the market, and those that are tend to be pricey. Yet sometimes we do hear of short-lived 'existing customer only' deals from certain firms that can be competitive. These deals aren't available on comparison sites, making them hard to keep track of.
Is there a good one out there that fellow MoneySavers might be missing out on?

You have to actively opt into paperless billing. See below

Shame no one could answer my question but I assume available tariffs are visible in an online a/c?
I will give BG a call to see what's currently available when I have a mo.
Thanks all.0 -
Im currently on a variable standard tariff with BG, which has recently gone from £92.49 a month to a staggering £190.86 a month.
My current tariff is:
and my options to change are:
Am i correct in thinking that the cheapest is only around a 16% rise in cost so it would be worth changing?
Any advice given would be greatly appreciated.0 -

Any advice given would be greatly appreciated.I don't think you are correct, no.For Ofgem's "average customer" the current SVR works out as £1971/yr. For the same average customer, those four BG tariffs would cost £2608, £2623, £2671 and £2734 - increases of 32%, 33%, 36% and 39% respectively, not 16%.You say your current monthly payment is £191-ish. Is some of that beecause you were previously paying too little and you are catching up with a negative balance on your account?Having said that, if Ofgem's forecast of a 42% cap increase in October turns out to be correct, any of those fixes could still be worth taking.N. Still worth taking the cheapest tariff do you think?
Appreciate your assistance0 -
markw96 said:Maths never was my strong point obviously. Yes it seems I was paying too little previously. Current tariff would cost me £1882 a year compared with the cheapest on offer being £2539 a year (around 35% again not my strong point)

Appreciate your assistanceI've answered enough of these questions that I've got a spreadsheet to do the maths for meYes, if you would prefer the certainty of a fix for however-many-months rather than braving the vagaries of a variable tariff, the cheaper two of those fixes (the left-hand ones) both look promising. I don't know exactly how they differ - is one fixed for longer than the other, for example? - but you can compare features and choose the one you prefer.N. Hampshire, he/him.
