With wholesale gas prices at their lowest level since November 2021, we want to know what fixed energy deals you're being offered by your current provider.

There are very few fixed deals available to new customers on the market, and those that are tend to be pricey. Yet sometimes we do hear of short-lived 'existing customer only' deals from certain firms that can be competitive. These deals aren't available on comparison sites, making them hard to keep track of.

Is there a good one out there that fellow MoneySavers might be missing out on?

Let us know the name of the tariff and the name of the supplier.

That doesn't really help us answer your question without the price per.kwh and standing charge info.

Can someone help me if I should fix or not please!

Currently with British Gas (electric only) paying the price cap rate of:

    Off peak 0540 - 1240 hours - 20.611p/kWh
    On peak 1240 - 0540 hours - 30.501p/kWh

    Standing charge - 48.213p

    Estimated annual use - 9499 kWh / £2643.38

    Offering me Exclusive May 23v1:

    Off peak 0540 - 1240 hours 22.595p/kWh
    On peak 1240 - 0540 hours 36.453p/kWh

    Standing charge - 55.062p

    Estimated annual use - 9499 kWh / £3061.36

Currently paying £232.33 dd / month

I know the annual usage is insanely high but since I've got this projection I've stopped mining crypto which is a fair chunk of that!

Be interesting to see people's opinion as my circumstances are not usual thanks to Economy 7 and no gas.

    Thanks in advance

I have been offered the below quotes to fix my tariff.

I am currently paying direct debits of £72.29 per month for Gas (£100.20 in debit at the end of the plan) and £100.00 per month for electricity (£194.28 in debit at the end of the plan).

This is what British Gas are offering me ... please forgive my stupidity but I cannot work out whether this is 30% more than the price cap ... I am already paying £2067.48 per year as it stands...

    Can anyone help?

so what I did was multiply the new monthly by 12 so £320.02*12 = £3840.24.  Your current price of £2067.48 + 30% would be £2687.72 but do you also have the current 54% to contend with as well as the October prediction?  If so you need to take your current price plus 54% then add on the predicted 42% for October when it comes.

    Although I might be wrong
  • Hi

Should I switch to E.on fixed V14 one year fix @30% now or wait until nearer October ?

All depends on if you think the price cap will be £2800 come October and your usage over the summer months until then paying extra for your energy used.

For many they need to sit down with a calculator or spreadsheet and work it out for kWh used and take a best guess or gamble.

It must be noted Ofgems announcement did not say it will definitely be £2800 so it could go either way.
