I've complained about a variety of products over the years - fortunately not for the reason you quote.

Normally all I've done is send a polite email, with photos of packaging, barcode, receipt if I have it, detailing when and where the product was purchased, how much I was looking forward to consuming it and how dreadful the actual experience was.

Inevitably I have received an apology and something that exceeds the purchase value of the item.  Opened a jar of jam to find it was already mouldy - a dozen jars of their most popular jams delivered.  Bought cheddar cheese popcorn to discover it was actually cheese and onion flavour - humongous box of bizarre flavours of popcorn most of which were too weird for me to eat so I gave them away (Christmas dinner flavour??).  And for my cats -  a box of store brand fish packets contained an empty packet for the competitors identical item - obviously both produced in the same factory (which I pointed out to the fussy mogs) and got a gift voucher equal to over twice the price of what I had paid.

But always polite, always telling them how good I find their products normally (or how much my cats do) and it's good feedback for them and they will respond positively.

  • Serious question...

Never having indulged in coprophagia myself, how has the OP identified the foreign matter in question?

The smell is very strong and very clear what it is (post chewing and spitting out).  Surely everyone know what poo smells like?

I think most of us assumed you meant rodent droppings, and sometimes if they have been in the manufacturing process for a while they are not obvious smell wise, and the smell wasn’t obvious if you ate it and didn’t notice!

This piece of poo was much too large to be from a rodent.

Which beggars the question; how did you miss it?
I was expecting chocolate and the lights were low.
  • I have now sent photographic evidence with batch details of the egg to Ferrero Roche directly.  Am now investigating whether there is an appropriate Environmental Health contact to flag this up with.

So there was a random unwrapped object in the egg that clearly wasn't meant to be there, and you decided to eat it?!?!

You'll need to take photos, write a complaint then send EVERYTHING back to the manufacturer (egg, packaging, wrapping papers, poop) so they can investigate.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
